Not a bad unit; however, the biggest problem with the touchscreen units is trying to explain to a service company (e.g. A/C repair, furnace cleaning, etc.) of how to "wake" the unit to accept the input lock code., which invariably a technician who either wasn't told or doesn't understand. The optional Z-Wave and Zigbee modules are outdated and do nut use the latest protocols in technology.
The lock looks great and worked for 2 years without trouble, then one day the lock mechanism failed. Yale only warrants the 'electronics' (which to them includes the locking motor) for 1 year, so plan on buying a new lock every few years.
Nice looking level door keyless lock. Installation is very simple and easy, just follow the installation instructions. I'm very happy with this purchase.
I wanted a lock on my door to the garage but didn't want any fancy gadget that I had to link to my phone, etc. I needed a stand alone modern lock that would be easy for anyone to use if they knew the code and this is exactly the lock I needed. It works great, looks great and its simple.
I bought it because I used one at an Air b&b that we stayed at. I have a 15 year old son so the idea of getting rid of a key and using a code was nice. Also the automatic lock feature locks the door 30 seconds after you shut it so he can never forget. I will never come home to an unlocked door. Super easy to install and use. It can hold more than 1 code so everyone remembers. It will be great when I need my neighbor to check on pets at the last Minute.
