Poorly made

Have had to replace every year. Very poorly made. We have small property and this one has not even lasted a season before squealing, the lock to hold extended rod does not hold so it shrinks while using, battery dosen't last long enough to weed eat even small property ...I have B&D hedgr cutters that have lasted years..but this..not worth the money.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Terrible trimmer

Had a Black &Decker trimmer for years, figuring it was time for a new one I went with Black & Decker again. Big mistake! The trim line didn't stop feeding! Used it twice and returned it! I liked that the battery fit my blower!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Perfect small trimmer

Battery isnt for large jobs.. i grab it when i take the dog out and trim for like 10 minutes at a time.. works great, Light, cordless. nice unit.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Poor quality

I bought first one Feb.2021 the line feed failed it was replaced May 2021 the line feed failed again will not buy B+D again

Machine is great - batteries terrible

I bought this last year to help with volunteer work at local parks, nature preserves, etc. I am a 70 year old male, short and 145 pounds, so wanted something light.
The machine is great. Goes through vegetation like a dream.
But the batteries -- and the charging system -- are HORRIBLE!
I now have 5 batteries - two of 2.0Ah and 3 of 1.5Ah. They each last only a short while and it takes FOREVER to charge them - basically all afternoon and evening or overnight.
If I was just doing around my house, 2-3 batteries would suffice. But for anything more, the battery system is pure junk.
(I learned from a friend that his string trimmer (made by a different firm) has batteries that recharge in half an hour. What's going on, B&D? And, why have such small capacity batteries?)
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have purchased the parts needed. Several times. I'm going to put tape over the lever that feeds the line. I purchased 5 levers one worked. When it ran out of feed and I put another spool in, that was it. They worked for about 5 minutes, then it released ALL the line. Used 3 spools before I looked at the video on how to make it a manual feed. Glad some of you liked it but if you're on a fixed income, I wouldn't suggest you buy this one. This seems to be a problem with alot of them.

Poor Battery Run Time

I just bought this trimmer and used it only 2 times. Battery only lasted about 15 minutes. First time I thought maybe I just didn't have it charged up enough. Second time after it was fully charged, same result. Do not buy this product if you need to run it more than 15 minutes. Or else you will need several batteries.
