Way more than a microwave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this appliance! It has rendered our toaster oven and air fryer obsolete. Which frees up a lot of counter space. The design is gorgeous! It sits flush with our cabinets and looks super high end. It has a large capacity interior which is wonderful and I love that it comes with all the trays you need for each option and it has SO many options. I don’t know if I will ever get to use them all. It does take a while to get used to using it. The “door open” button should be a stand alone button as the glass surface is so hard to keep clean of all the fingerprints. Overall I am beyond pleased with this purchase. It look and is just amazing!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not so great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Kitchen Aide appliances aren’t the greatest. I have all Kitchen Aide and 4 months ago, replaced 3 of them. The last microwave only lasted a few years and never worked properly. Had to unplug it and didn’t buy a new one for many years. Since the other appliances are KA, we wanted to replace with the same. This new one loses power every week and I have to redo the time and date. There aren’t any instructions. Too hard to find online. Can’t even use the convection or air fryer, because no instructions. These are more expensive than most and not worth it.

Meh…

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This unit tries to be a lot of things, and masters none. It's "okay." Takes over a minute minute to reheat a half a cup of lukewarm coffee. Takes 11 minutes to toast an english muffin. Steam clean function is feckless. Intermittent problem with a "lost power, please reset date and time" message. Supposedly they'll be replacing the UI in the door. Well see what happens.

DO NOT BUY!
on February 6, 2025

Bought a week before Christmas 2024, & have problems from 1 week in. I’m embarrassed for kitchen aid where some of the design & functionality is concerned. Mine has had electronic issues such as “lost power” message & having to reset to factory default settings to get it to do anything…4x now in 1.5 mths. Then it started not keeping time properly on the clock. I’d reset then it either loses or gains time. Cleaning the screen with no lock out of controls is a pain as another person stated. It’s weird to just set a plate or dish on the bottom & I don’t see the bottom lasting long with things sliding in & out of it but remains to be seen. No turntable is odd but the worst is not being able to clean splatter in the top metal vents because they don’t remove. The steam clean function does not get it out & you have no way to wipe it out if something splatters in it. The air fry mode is horrible, & the micro takes longer than any micro I’ve had to include a kitchenaid convect micro I just replaced with this horrible one. It heats unevenly as well. . Don’t expect crisp food & if you are able to get it, it’ll take way longer than a real airfryer. IMO this micro should be recalled, & designed better before released again & release something that we have come to know & love with past Kitchenaid products. I have always had & loved every Kitchenaid large & small appliance, now I’m scared to own any. The only thing I’m in love with is the cabinet depth for a sleek, more spacious appearance.

Does not reheat food correctly-Cannot pop popcorn
on March 14, 2025

from New Orleans, LA
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our second unit! We replaced the first unit and had to replace it within 1 month. We were told that the computer board could be the issue, that is why we tried our luck and purchased the second unit. We upgraded to this unit which is more expensive than the first unit. It will not heat up food properly, it cannot pop popcorn properly. We have not used any other features, other than to re-heat food and popcorn. We have tried the Popcorn feature and a manual cook time for the popcorn. It takes approximately 6 minutes to make popcorn. When reheating food, the plateware gets extremely hot, but not the food. I have read other similar reviews with the same issue.
It is a beautiful Multifunction Over-the-Range Oven, it is such a shame it does not work. We also own a Kitchen Aid dishwasher, electric range, and French style Kitchen Aid refrigerator.
Does Kitchen Aid have a solution? Will Kitchen Aid recall these units?

Good microwave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this unit a month ago. It has taken a bit to get used to the features but once we figured them out the unit works very well. It is best to take all the shelves out when microwaving food. The popcorn setting does NOT work with microwave popcorn bags.

Disappointed in Kmmf730 microwave performance
on April 16, 2025

from W Bloomfield, Mi
We have had and used our Kmmf730 microwave for about 2 weeks now and our very disappointed. We bought an entire suite of Kitchen Aide appliances, and the microwave is barely useable. It takes a very long time to cook and defrost food and it cooks and defrosts very unevenly. Compared to our GE microwave we had for about 12 years it is barely functional, and cost a lot. In addition, the instructions to operate are difficult to find and understand and it is even very hard to set the time.
