My heater on it does not want to work and I tried it for the 1st time and it just won’t work and the filter was so clean that you can see through easily. So I’m baffled on this. I must’ve gotten a manufacturer defect.

We'd like to help with the heat mode on your air conditioner. Use the temperature increase pad to set the desired temperature. You can find instructions for using heat mode on page 6 of the manual here: https://products-salsify.geappliances.com/image/upload/s--uESkloaA--/olahm3csc12czym1bt5n.pdf

We recommend making sure that the indoor airflow is not restricted by furniture, blinds, or drapes and the outside rear grille is free from restrictions as well. Additional, make sure the windows and doors are closed and have a good seal to prevent drafts and heat loss from the area being heated. If the unit is free from restrictions and installed properly, try resetting the unit by unplugging it 2-3 minutes and then restoring power.

You can find full details of your warranty on page 19 of the manual linked above. If the issue continues after troubleshooting, you can reach our warranty team by calling 1-833-426-3393 M-F 8:00-8:00 EST.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unless you have another ac running this one doesn't do a whole lot. It helps out with the one we already have but for the price it's not worth it. Only used the heat 2 times and it isn't really heat it's kinda like lukewarm water. Just not warm enough to do the trick. I am pretty sure next summer we'll have to get another one because I don't think this one actually gets down to 64 degrees as it says. I review everything I buy honestly and I wish I had read the reviews on this one before I spent that much. I suppose if you were in a tiny and I mean tiny little room it may benefit you. Mine is in a 450 sq ft room with another 10,000 btu ac so it should be ice cold in here.

We would like to provide some guidance with the cooling performance you are noticing with your AC unit. We recommend checking to make sure that the unit is appropriately sized for the room it is installed in. 8000 BTU is ideal for rooms up to 350 square feet. You will also want to check and make sure that no gaps are present around the window, this allows warm air to enter. You can view this article for more troubleshooting: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=18860

If you are still experiencing issues with the cooling, we suggest checking into your warranty for the next best steps: https://products-salsify.geappliances.com/image/upload/s---hnyNhBR--/ufkasm4dsddkxf9zfxo7.pdf

This AC/Heating Unit failed to function
on December 9, 2025
Posted by: Failure to Launch
I purchase this AC/Heating Unit earlier this year and installed it. It wouldn't heat and the cooling function would not shut off once it reached the ideal temperature. I've purchased four Frigidaire AC units before this and they all worked great. I'm so disappointed. I spend a lot of time and money installing the unit. I should have spent more time testing it before installation. I've noticed online that other people are having trouble with this unit.

We’re glad to hear the cooling is working well for you, and we’d like to assist with the issue you’re having with heating. We recommend making sure the air filter is clean, and the temperature control is set properly; in the heat mode, the Increase pad would be pressed. More information about what to check for an issue with heating is available on page 16 of the manual, available at this link: https://products-salsify.geappliances.com/image/upload/s--uESkloaA--/olahm3csc12czym1bt5n.pdf

We also have an article discussing what to try for a heating issue, linked here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=16771

If you aren’t able to solve the issue with heating and think you may need to take advantage of your warranty, information about the warranty is available on page 19 of the manual.

We'd like to help out with your unit not heating. We recommend checking to make sure that no curtains, blinds, or furniture are blocking the front of the air conditioner. You will also want to check for any openings or gaps that may be letting cool air enter the room. You can also try performing an electronic reset, which can be done by unplugging the power cord for 2-3 minutes, then plugging it back in.

If the troubleshooting didn't help, we recommend checking into your warranty here: https://products-salsify.geappliances.com/image/upload/s---hnyNhBR--/ufkasm4dsddkxf9zfxo7.pdf
