Sony FMP-X10 Great Player

I bought the Sony Model FMP-X10 on presale which was an excellent decision on my part. It was purchased so that I can view 4k movies on my Sony XBR-55X900A 4k TV. When I purchased the FMP-X10, I received the unit and the installation was simple. I purchased 2 movies and couldn't believe the colors, clarity and sound. But the only thing is that an 1hr. 15min movie took almost 28 hrs. to download it all depends on you cable up and down load speeds. Well overall I am extremely happy and satisfied with this product and products Sony makes. I'm a customer for life.

Excellent Media Player

Very happy with this Sony 4K medial player. Love being able to control my Sony 70 inch 4K HD TV, 4K medial player, and Blu-Ray player with the same remote.

First off, I have no idea why everyone is complaining about their server not working with their equipment. Maybe they didn't have it installed correctly. You know what, they prolly got the wrong cables (yellow, red, white instead of green, red, blue) silly people. I hope they know, "you can pay someone to install it for you!"
Anyhoo. One word can be used to describe this server; freaking awesome bro!!! K that was more like three, who cares I am excited. My cat can't even tell the maid on the screen apart from my real one. Yes its that real. My Little Pony sparkles to live with vivid detail and stunning colors. Ms Doubtfire more like Misses Nodoubtfire in beautiful 4k. This server makes Sandra Bernhard sexy.
You need this machine. It will change your life.

Easy Set Up - Great Picture

Easy set up - took less than 20 minutes. Picture very much improved with Cardas HDMI cable. Far better than the cable provided with the device. Issues with picture - upgrade your cables.

Great 4K UHD Movie Server!!

4K UHD is taking off slow like 1080p hd did & bluray did. Then they took off. When bluray first came, there werent much movies to buy. 2006 every movie was shot, edited in 1080p hd. Now 4k uhs is out, fall 2014 every movie from sony will be shot & editied in true native 4k uhd. 4k uhd movies are coming out each month on the server. Holiday 2015 a true native 4k uhd bluray player & 4k uhd movies will be out. The color display on 4k uhd media server is great. Love the 50 fred clips in 4k uhd. Plus all thess movies. No other tv company has a 4k uhd movie selection like sony does. I reccommend this to everyone. I also reccommend everyone to buy bdp-s7200 4k upscaling bluray player too. Sony is #1 in the most 4k uhd tvs sold. Love the selection, easy to use.

Overpriced and inefficient

For a Media Player the technology is antiquated. Streaming is incredibly inefficient. The need to connect to a port on modem utilizing a wire connection is old technology. Downloading a 4K movie can take as much as 6 hours.
Concept is good for 4K Media Device, download flexibility needs to be changed to wireless only.

This may not seem essential, but if you wish to build a personally controlled library of 4k or HD movies, this storage device will be a good start. The capacity is good enough, software is decent, and the cost is reasonable.
