Better than expected

Lights easily, burns hot (and safely), and no smoke after starting. I use it on my deck (nightly) and while car camping. I’ll have this thing for years and get a lot of miles out of it.

Fabulous for small city backyards

This is a fabulous fire pit for a small backyard in the city. My yard isn't small, but the pool takes up a lot of it, so it's perfect for the patio. I live in a city that allows firepits but people can still call in to complain. With the Solo Stove putting out virtually no smoke there's no reason for anyone to even know we have it on. The way the fire appears at the top with the air flow holes is mesmerizing! Fantastic firepit - can't imagine using anything other than this.

Nice product, but...

To be clear, the quality and functionality of the Solo Stove Ranger leave little to be desired. Great product. Just a couple gripes: 1) it's made in China. If a cheap(ish), well-made bit of gear is all you're after, that won't matter to you. If you care about human rights, democracy and/or the environment, it will. And 2) it comes wrapped in a superabundance of plastic and styrofoam. Again, this might not matter to you. But if it does, maybe you should think twice. If I had it to do over, I would.

Awesome for Camping

We purchased the Ranger for our 18' RV after we experienced the Bonfire at a friends house! Best purchase ever! It puts out warm heat for everyone around without feeling like you have to sit in the fire pit! I'm excited to tag SoloStove on all of our adventures with our Ranger!!!

Rust Issues

It all works as expected which is great except the inside of the ranger where you’d place the wood and have a fire is beginning to rust, and from my understanding I thought this was all stainless steel... apparently not.

As Advertised is How it Performs

From the moment I built the first fire, I knew I had made the right decision. Simplicity and quality perfectly balanced to produce a superior product. Often a restaurant menu’s picture of a dish fails, in a bad way, to represent what comes to the table. Solo Stove does not over-hype, what is depicted is what you truly get. Thanks for truth in advertising and a great product!

Perfect for car camping 2-4 ppl

Great to take car camping. We had 4 ppl around the fire. Burns wood fast and fiery (awesome) if it is sticking up above the fire ring. Once the logs burn off to drop below the ring, that slow burn is amazing to watch. It’s pretty perfect other than you may need to cut your wood smaller to drop below the ring.

Very efficient - much less smoke and hassle to keep it burning right. - burns almost any fuel once going. - puts off great heat. Absolutly Amazing stove.
