Ranger is great!

I supported the Ranger on Kickstarter and we had our first Ranger Fire today! I am beyond pleased with the size of the pit and super clean combustion. It will go easily into the camper, Cub Scout outings, and backyard. Perfect potable size for a family or small group.

I love my new Ranger

I love it! Ordered through Kickstarter, it arrived earlier this week. Broke it out and lit up a fire on the patio this morning, using a few scraps of paper and some scraps of wood I had laying around. It lit up right away, and way roaring within minutes. Best part was very little smoke once it got going. (Just a little smoke until it took off.)
Once it died out, I was able to handle it in about an hour. I flipped it upside down to dump out what ask there was. (There wasn't much, it was a very efficient burn.)

Got my Solo Ranger pit from the Kickstarter Solo start in October. Came in on Dec. 24 and lit it off today for a side to side comparison with a fire pit I bought last year. Used a Light my Fire Swiss flint and steel with some cotton lint and paper. Started quickly with very little smoke. Will be using the Ranger at home, camping and maybe even Kayaking (on land not on the water) over all great design and hope to have many years of fires.

Got this from Kickstarter and love it. There is a little smoke in the beginning while starting up, but once it starts heating up, the smoke virtually disappears. It's really nice for small gatherings, produces a beautiful flame and a lot of heat. The kids had fun roasting marshmallows and the adults enjoyed the heat without the smoke. Wish I had bought the larger Yukon. Makes it possible to enjoy the evenings outdoors year round in San Diego.

Great!

We received our Solo Ranger right before the Christmas holidays and have loved using it. The design allows for airflow so the fire starts quickly and stays active. The base allows for safe and easy use on our patio.

Love it!

I backed the Solo Stove Ranger on KickStarter because I wanted a portable fire pit I could use both on my back patio as well as easily take along with our travel trailer. I have been using a propane-fueled portable campfire, but frankly it was a little too inconvenient between filling and setting up the bottles, hose and regulator. Yes, it burned cleaner but it never really gave us that “real campfire” experience. I am now 110% sold on the Ranger and Solo Stove. Overall, the Ranger is an EXCELLENT product – worth every penny!

Gen 2 seems even better than the 1st, which is hard to believe

I love these stoves. I had a small camping one that was great and then bought the 1st Gen. bonfire unit last year and had a blast with it and amazing and intriguing everyone that stood around it. Then they announced 2 new sizes last year on Kickstarter and I leapt at the chance to get second generation versions. Got my Ranger stove a few days ago and it seems to be better than the first version somehow. Started even easier with less smoke, it seemed. This size is super great. They all are- collect them all if you are a pyro like me. Super stoked for the big one to arrive, that will be the party fire, for many people to gather around. The ranger is great for 2-3 people. People think I am weird for having all three, but they do not complain once I start fires in them. People love to stand around these very closely, no smokey smelling clothes the next day (tho I kind of like that smell, to be honest, but my clothes don't like it.) You cannot go wrong with any of these products, they are top notch. Gen 2 seems a little heavier duty and the slight design improvements seem to be better. Way to go guys, thanks for making these bon fire units!

The Ranger rocks!!
on January 6, 2019

Had the maiden voyage of our new Solo Stove Ranger tonight, and his thing totally rocks! I love it!
I’ve been interested since I saw the Kickstarter for the Campfire stove 4 years ago, but I didn’t really have a lot of use for a little camp stove, although I loved the concept.
Then, they introduced the Bonfire fire pit a couple of years later, but it was more than I wanted to spend on something I didn’t really need. I was also hoping that at some point they’d introduce something a little smaller and more portable than the Bonfire.
Then, the Kickstarter for the Ranger and Yukon hit a few months ago. The Yukon is a giant fire pit, but the Ranger looked perfect! Still a little pricey, but a good size that would work in the back yard, or pack up to take on camping trips. Around the same time, my friend made a post on Facebook about his Bonfire, and how much he loved it. I asked a few questions, and after that, I was sold. I backed the Ranger, and received it shortly before Christmas, but we just had too much going on through the holidays, and I never got around to even opening the box.
Well, I busted it out tonight, and it definitely lives up to my expectations. It looks great, weighs only 15lbs, and is ingeniously engineered. I gathered up a few handfuls of willow sticks/branches that always litter our back yard, a small wadded up paper bag, and a couple of small chunks of hickory that I had from my grill stash. In less than 5 minutes, I had a roaring fire going. I threw on a couple of small half logs that we have for the chimenea, and it was good to go. All I did for the next couple of hours was add some more sticks, twigs, and branches from around the yard. Awesome!
It burns clean, hot, and with a very small amount of smoke. What smoke there is, is channeled straight up by the heavy oxygen flow, so no smoke in the face. It’s crazy easy to start and keep going, with very little fuel. The stand stays cool and keeps it elevated above the ground, so everything stays nice and cool and safe below and around. On top of everything else, the secondary burn that the engineered airflow creates makes for a really spectacular fire. It has an extremely unique and hypnotic burn pattern. I can’t wait to take it camping! On top of everything else, they’re based out of Fort Worth, so I get to support a local business as well. Extremely happy with this purchase!!
