The ranger is perfect for a get together on our back patio. It's the perfect size and we love the low smoke. We would feel confident in using it safely even in dry weather. It's a great quality fire pit.

Great campfire!

The shipping was fast and everything was in great shape. The Ranger fires were super easy to light and the fire was blazing in minutes. It made the best campfire with little to no smoke and put out a good amount of heat. Outstanding fire pit for camping. My wife liked it so much she wants to get a bigger one for the patio!

Leave no trace Solo Ranger

My family has a strong commitment to leaving no trace and having zero impact on the environment when camping. But we all know campfires are a necessity! So if you hate smoky campfires and want to love on the environment the Solo Stove is for you. And if you are a family of 3-5 then the Ranger is a perfect size! Oh and add a small campfire grate for the perfect wood fired meal!

Couldn't be Happier!

We purchased this ahead of a camping trip this past weekend. One of the primary reasons we wanted a "smokeless" stove or fire pit was my wife's asthma. Smoke can cause her symptoms to flair up and can really put a damper on time around a fire. The Ranger lived up to the hype and honestly, exceeded our expectations. Smoke was minimal once we got a good fire going, heat was phenomenal, and clean up was a breeze. Throughout the weekend we had a number of people stop by to ask about the stove and compliment it. Quite a few said they wanted one by the end of the weekend. There was another family that brought the Bonfire and I heard many of the same comments from families that had been by their campsite. Not only would I purchase again if I had too, we are considering getting one as a gift for my parents and have honestly discussed getting Bonfire or Yukon in the future for the backyard. If there any hesitation in that its only because the Ranger is so awesome and I don't see "needing" a new one ever.
I'm actively looking for any excuse to fire this up and use again as soon as possible.

Ranger may be small but plays large.

I bought my Ranger mainly for leave no trace camping and overlanding rallies etc. but after two days of looking at it, Saturday morning I couldn’t take it anymore and by 10am the kindling was started. I fortunate to have 2ac of hardwoods so supply wasn’t a problem. I didn’t use a handsaw to recut and split the oak on hand. The stove used very little wood. Produced no smoked except for a wet piece I put in but it quickly dried. And I ended up having a very relaxing Saturday afternoon and evening and some friends even joined me. The real fun happened when we started to get hungry so got out the cast iron pot and tripod and in a couple of hours we all we eating navy bean soup from scratch on cold winters day. I also got the ring stand and the grass didn’t scorch at all and removing what little ashes there were was easy. Wish I could include some pictures.

Love this thing!!!

We were recently camping with our friends and the Solo Stove Ranger. It was pretty cold out so we gathered around the Ranger. I was impressed beyond words at how efficiently it worked to keep us warm. There was very little smoke and ambiance was great! Many stories were shared and plenty of camp neighbors came to check it out. We thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t wait to use it again!

Didn't smell like Kippers the next morning!

Tried my new Ranger this weekend on an RV trip. It did what was promised; smoke was low, startup and cleanup were good, efficiency was good (didn't use as much wood as an open fire would). The most telling comment came the next morning when my wife stated that her cloths and hair didn't smell like she had been around a fire.
Heat output was good, but I think it radiates more heat if you don't over fill it. A 2ft flame above the stove looks cool, but I think 2" tall radiates more heat. Just my opinion.
Other BIG benefit, which some dont comment that much on, is that you can locate the stove precisely where you want it, not confined to the existing firepit location. The site I was at was a long site with the fire pit some 40' feet back, yet I wanted the fire conveniently behind my RV.
I was also planning a stone courtyard with gas ring in my back yard, but after this experience I wont bother with the gas line or built in ring and will buy a Bonfire instead. Added bonus is that in the summer I will be able to store it and use the space for something else. Cant do that with a brick-built gas ring!

Bomber of a Stove!

First off, I believe in well-built products. I also demand that a company delivers on their advertising claims. This stove delivers on both of those criteria. It is simple to use (start a little kindling in the bottom, add wood as it builds). We sat around a virtually smokeless fire that was toasty warm. The warmth and glow of the fire was awesome, and made even better by the small amount of smoke it gives off. It made for a perfect first evening of use, and we will definitely be using the Ranger fire pit again and again. It's a must have for a great evening camping!
