Just what we wanted!

I had been looking at this for awhile and finally took the plunge. I was concerned that it might not be big enough or really with it but I was wrong on both accounts! It fits nicely on our patio and takes reasonably sized logs. Just as advertised it pumps out the heat without smoke! We love it! Really do need the screen though—it was a great addition. Like it so much we bought another for our son!

Mesmerizing!

I bought the Ranger to put in our back yard just to sit by as the weather turns colder. I live in the city where neighbors are close, so the size and the smokeless design was a big selling point. I opened it up, set it on the ground and started it with a little scrap wood I had lying around. The speed at which this thing got burning told me that I had something completely different here! I only had one cut up log and some scraps from an old pallet (I couldn't wait to try it out) and, wow, the Ranger burned it all so hot & efficiently - it was a wonder to watch. The secondary burn from the top holes, and the "shape" of the fire as it comes out the top is mesmerizing to watch. I was a little nervous about the smokeless claim, being so close to the neighbors, but I had nothing to worry about. This was the cleanest outdoor burn I've ever seen! It was amazing! I love it. The only issue (if you can call it that) is that unless the fire is really kickin' out the top, you need to sit pretty close to the unit to stay warm. I had thought that the metal body would radiate heat, but, because of the double wall construction, it does still get hot, but not radiating hot. Because of this, I'm considering stepping up to the Bonfire. But this is just personal preference. Like I said, if you keep the flame going strong, it puts out the heat! Overall, I'm completely impressed and satisfied with my SoloStove! It does just what they say it will! Even when it was almost burned down to embers, it was like a forge in there! Glowing bright hot like there was a fan blowing air through it! That's just a testament to the brilliant design of this thing! I love it! I gotta' go get some more wood!

Great Addition to Our Camping

I have a Yukon for the backyard and wanted something to take with us camping. My lungs are healthy, but I don't tolerate campfire smoke well, and I'm appalled at what I find in the campground firepits. The size of the Ranger is perfect. We are a family of four and camp in a small travel trailer. The Ranger is an excellent addition to our adventures.

Great fire pit

This is a wonderful firepit. I admire it so much I bought the yukon along side the ranger. The ranger is far more portable. I have even taken it on a canoe camping trip.

Ranger - Game Changer

I had been looking for a fire pit for awhile and finally decided to go for a solo stove. I chose the Ranger for the size and portability. It made its debut this week and surpassed expectations. Easy to setup and the fire was hot and clean. Neighbors stopped over when they saw it and were equally impressed. One is already planning a similar purchase to upgrade their existing pit.

Practically Perfect

My family is very happy with our new Ranger stove. The fire lights up fast and the flames are beautiful to watch. With little to no smoke it is great so you don't walk away smelling like campfire. The unit is solid and feels lusurious.
The only thing keeping this from perfect is the size makes it difficult to find chopped wood htat will fit it without having to widdle it down yourself.

It's pretty nice

It's very easy to get a fire started in the ranger, and it burns super hot without much smoke, but it doesn't necessarily put off a lot of heat to warm people sitting around it. Definitely more for ambiance than warmth.
It's a nice size, and lightweight, but it's too small for regular cut firewood (I use 16" logs for my wood stove), so I'll have to precut a bunch of smaller chunks for next time. It also burns through wood very quickly!
It seems well made and I'm looking forward to using it some more, even if it reminds me a little of a trashcan fire.
