Love my little buddy

I have been wanting a Solo Stove since the spring and I finally pulled the trigger about a month ago. I that month I have used it at the house 3 times, taken it to the cabin twice and also brought it to a tailgate after our men's hockey game. It is great, lights quick, puts off enough heat and everyone seems to love the styling...as do I.

Adventure to remember, memories to treasure.

Purchased a camper a few weeks ago. Thoughts of the difficulty in getting a campfire going and suffering through an evening of smoke at camp-fire was the most unappealing thought about our future camping adventures. SOLO STOVE RANGER made our initial adventure simply fabulous! My 90 year old Father-inlaw, who had not experienced camping in over 45 years, throughly impressed and enjoyed Solo Stove campfire. Our first campout and first experience with Solo Stove Ranger are memories we will treasure.

Too warm to fire up in NC

Sooooo, been too warm to fire up my Ranger in N.C.! Sooo, I purchased a Bonfire for my brother-in-law in Denver CO! Then I purchased a second Bonfire for my my brother and sister in law in St. Louis for their Oct and Nov birthdays! Denver and St Louis crew love their new Bonfires! Gosh, I set up my Ranger in Durham, NC but not cold enough to fire it up! Hoping Halloween or early November we can enjoy a fire in Durham! Be safe all!

Great for our new patio

We opted for the smallest model because we were just looking for something to provide an intimate fire in a small circle of chairs on our new patio. This was/is perfect for that! Very cozy and guests can enjoy the fire without being “smoked out!”
It will change color when it heats up. Ours has a golden patina that fades down to the traditional stainless toward the bottom. I understand this is normal and doesn’t really affect my enjoyment of the drive at all!
Highly recommended!

Great for Tailgating

Our new Ranger stove is great for tail gating at Washington Husky football games. Too bad that we don't get into the stadium, but we can still cheer our team out in the parking lot.

Great for small backyard in a city

We live in a city and have an 11'x15' concrete patio/backyard with concrete block walls. We wanted to find a firepit that was safe, small enough for our backyard, and had minimal smoke. We initially were going to purchase a chiminea to direct the smoke up and out the top, but they were pretty expensive and break/rust easily. The ranger met all of these needs and more. It's small, but heats up the whole space. I think the bigger model would have been too big to have people sitting and move around it when you need to. Our friends and family like it so much that they decided to buy one for themselves! The fire starts in a few minutes and burns very well; just grey ashes left.
Two design updates could make it even better. First, an access hatch in the bottom would be best to empty the ash, since not all of it comes out when you turn the thing upside down to empty it.
Second, a lid over the top and/or an operable vent over the holes to completely extinguish the fire if you need to. Unlike traditional fire pits, you cannot douse it with water because it's stainless steel. Sand is the next best fire extinguisher that would work, but having a lid and side vents to block all airflow to cool it down even faster would be great. Sometimes we have to wait a few hours for the embers to completely cool before disposing.
