Perfect for our needs

The Solo Stove is perfect for our needs - particularly as we are engaged in social distancing here in Los Angeles. The design is sleek, it's easy to move and fires up so quickly. The size of the ranger was perfect for us - not too big, not too small and we can take it to the beach, camping, etc. We opted for this vs. building a fire pit as we don't own our current home and it has been perfect.
Get some wood, a Solo Stove and camp out in your backyard Angelenos!
PS I love what the company is doing by giving front line works and those impacted most by this crisis free stoves. Keep up the good work.
PPS - get some bourbon too :)

Great customer service

I ordered a Ranger fire pit and it arrived damaged. :( I contacted customer service and they immediately gave me a prepaid return label to print from my computer. As soon as they verified the damaged product was at the UPS store they shipped a replacement. The replacement arrived quickly. I did not need to wait for them to receive the damaged product and inspect it. The photos I sent them of the dent was enough proof for them. I have used both the Bonfire and the Ranger. They both work as advertised. The perforated plate at the bottom of the burn chamber is thick and rounded like an upside down bowl. The curved surface helps ashes slide down and out of the way of incoming fresh oxygen, to fuel the flames. And it is thicker than what my old fire-pit was made of. It should hold up for a long time. The ranger used smaller wood, but I usually have plenty of odds and ends around as I cut my own wood. If you plan on using this on the road another satisfied user suggested to bring along an old fashioned cross cut hand saw to cut any larger logs in 1/2. It only takes about 20 seconds per log to cut them smaller. I like that the ranger uses less wood than the larger models so you are not going threw all your supply in one night. The best part is what it does not include. Smoke! And any smoke you do have tends to go straight up because of the drafting affect combined with the top ring pushing that flow inwards from all sides. It's like a jet engine without the noise. Only downfall is that the radiant heat is focused back inward instead of out to the feet of people around the fire. But that also helps keep the fire hot and burning, eliminating the need to keep pushing the ends of burnt logs back into the main fire. Overall, very satisfied.

Great for my small backyard!

The Ranger has been great for our small backyard. I've been able to get the kids out splitting wood and roasting marshmallows. The fire starts right up, has less smoke, and burns more efficiently than a typical fire pit. Once we're done, I'm able to put it in the shed to get it off the grass.

Just what we needed
on April 8, 2020

The small and mighty Ranger was just what we needed for a fun night on our small patio. With only fallen sticks gathered up from around the yard and a couple small logs, we had a fire that lasted several hours. It roasted marshmallows super quick and I was pleasantly surprised with the heat it gave off. There was very little smoke, except for a damp log I used that smoked some. Having the base to place the stove on was nice, so I didn't have to worry about the concrete underneath scorching or discoloring. The stove itself was hot to the touch on the sides, but not hot enough to immediately cause a burn if someone were to brush up against it. After all the wood was burned, I used oven mitts and moved it under cover so it wouldn't be rained on during the night as it cooled. The next morning I simply dumped the ashes in the trash. Easy! I love it and this little stove will be getting put to good use for a long time!

Ranger fire pit

I have only had the ranger fire pit for a few days. The size is perfect for takeing a good size fire pit with you wherever you may go . The first night my family tried it out with some cedar and black oak from a old dead tree. It is amazeing how fast the fire takes off with little to no smoke depending on wood and weather condition.
