Lights and burns as claims. I own the campfire and it eats the wood pretty quick. The ranger is more conservative with fuel. Using good wood, fully loaded it burned an hour easily. I really like it and recommend this Ranger. I'm seriously thinking about getting the bonfire.

portable firepit

Let me start by saying how much I love my Ranger firepit! We took it on a day trip to the North Fork of the Clearwater River. Simply took it out of the cover bag, set it up, put in the kindling, lit the fire and it started instantly. We sat around the fire pit for a while and let the fire burn down so we could put a grill on top and cook our burgers. So good! When it was time to get going, we dumped out the small coals. We loaded up the machine while letting the stove cool down, it took about 25 minutes. We brushed it off, put it back in the bag and was on our way. Needless to say...we absolutely love our new purchase! The Ranger is perfect for your day trips, RV use or in your backyard!

Best fire pit

I bought a cheaper portable fire pit with a similar design before. It was pretty good, but Solo Stove products are on another level. When used properly, they are as close to smokeless as you could hope. The materials used are good quality, and the manufacturing quality is also better than competitors. There are no weak metal seams or poor welds on my fire pit at all. The ranger is the perfect size for a smaller patio and is easily taken with you to the beach or camping. Even with its smaller size, it produces a tremendous amount of heat.

Best Fire Pit

I have tried some cheaper, but similar fire pits before. They were ok and worked, but Solo Stove products are on another level. The quality is by far the best from what I have seen. Also, the design is better for longevity when compared to cheaper brands. I would highly recommend the Ranger as the best all around fire pit because it is portable, but still allows you to burn larger pieces of wood. Full logs do not fit completely into the pit, but wood chunks or half length logs are perfect.

UPS delivered it, I opened it and started a fire. Burned for the next six hours. Spring clean-up, shag bark hickory, silver maple, pine and hickory nuts. If it was laying in my yard I burned it. It was full of hot ash at six p.m. At ten p.m. ash was almost totally gone, only a few embers left. Started again next day, four hours, same results. Had a very hot fire in it for two days. It changed the color of the top ring form the heat but that was it. Also it left no burn marks in my yard. Great engineering. Next time will be for fun (wine ) and cooking something.
