Love this thing!

I was a backer on kickstarter for the Bonfire, and although there were some delays they delivered a truly quality product. I've had it over a year now and still love it. The fire burns just as shown in the videos, its mesmerizing when you get a good burn going watching the flames come out of the holes. I do have a couple of recommendations to make this 5 stars. They don't even need to be included but should be available accessories. A spark arrestor cover, It was very hard to find one that fit, and I had to pay a premium because the company discontinued the size. Its an almost must have accessory if you plan on sitting around the fire. Additionally a cover/snuffer would useful, since it shouldn't be left out in the rain. There is no way to put out the fire, so at the end of the night I leave it out as the coals cool. There is nothing you can do when rain is called for overnight, or the sprinklers turn on in the early morning, or even a sudden rain shower comes across. Water then fills it, and clean up is a pain. I found a large outdoor skillet cover that works, but not ideal. Overall I highly recommend it, I'd like to upsize to the Yukon, but it's a bit pricey, considering I already own a Bonfire.

Does The Job

Recently purchased the Bonfire and it's a top notch piece of gear. Fit and finish are spot on, set up is simple and lights quick. Sides are obviously hot to the touch but most heat radiates out of the top so you can sit close to it. Cool off quick and cleanup is effortless. The Bonfire is the perfect size for travel or just a backyard set up. Highly recommend.

Loved the functionality

The functionality of this stove is exactly as advertised, amazing! Virtually no smoke and burns super hot. The only down fall is the thickness of the steel. I had a smaller log fall out of the stove and came back and hit it causing a huge dent. I don’t know if it is because the stove was hot that caused it to be so bendable or if I have the worst luck in the world. I would assume that down the road they will make it a little thicker but as I said before it works great, just handle it like it’s made of glass.

Bonfire

For my first outing, I took the Solo Stove Bonfire to the beach, it was a bit windy, but lit easily. For the first time my group was able to sit 360 degrees around the fire, everyone was able to stay put, no rotating around to fire to get out of the smoke. Previously I had was using a washer drum, and was constantly moving to avoid flames and smoke wafting out the sides of the basket.
All in all the Bonfire was a huge success, we had several other campers stop by to check out the Solo Stove and all were equally impressed.
My only regret is not waiting to the Yukon’s release, we have a big group and deserve a bigger fire.

Bonfire

Everything they say it is! Had a fire two nights in a row while camping. What a great fire---and yes it is true---little to no smoke! I didn't experience any of the discoloration others have talked about except for the top ring which is now a copper/gold color which I think is a great look. So easy to clean---burns everything to a fine ash---just tip over to clean out. Great!!
