Exactly as advertised

A friend and I got 2 Bonfires for Black Friday. It burns exactly as described - easy to light, burns hot and keeps burning, nearly no smoke once it gets hot, burns junk wood clean. The airflow is amazing. Can see the ‘re-burn’ from the upper air vents sometimes.
Negatives: All the heat goes up - with the double wall construction and vertical design, you really do not get much heat sideways, so it is not great for sitting around and keeping warm. Somewhat bulky and awkward to move and empty - you basically turn it upside down and shake it to empty the ashes - which is awkward and gets your hands smudgy.

Since getting My 1st Solo bonfire, I have bought 2-more, one for My daughter, and a 2nd for My vacation property. My son has also bought, and 2 friends have bought after seeing Mine in action. They’re great and would highly recommend!

When I first saw this advertised and saw the design I immediately knew it was what I have been looking for. I live next to a forest and also have access to unlimited scraps of wood from construction sites and I have probably used my Bonfire 100 times and it is still like it was the first time.
Some people complain about emptying the ashes... I just turn it upside down and they go into my compost.
Some people complain about the heat only being above the stove and my response is that if you want it to produce less smoke, the airflow through the side of the double wall will probably prevent heat from being reflected out. However I have found that with hard enough wood it puts out quite a bit of heat.
I build a frame for mine and put it on a dolly. So if I want to move it under cover, I just roll it around. It doesn't get too hot underneath.
I have always started my wood stoves with diesel soaked chainsaw dust, or the wood bedding for pet rats you can buy. I keep it in an old coffee can and when I want to light my Bonfire I just put a couple of spoon fulls of diesel soaked wood chips on a piece of wood and build a kindling structure above it and light it and I've got an instant fire.
Have never regretted buying this thing and I'm looking forward to the larger Yukon.

Love this Bonfire

We took the bonfire camping this past weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. Burns for longer than fire pit at campsite and burns wood to ashes. Easy cleanup and little smoke.
