Takes about 20 minutes to come to full operating temperature. When it does it burns just like advertised and makes a great bonfire.

I have been passionate about campfires my entire life. This is the easiest lighting, most complete burning, breeze to keep under control and good looking campfire I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. 10 stars!

Works as advertised

This is a great firepit and works as advertised. Anyone who has owned a firepit or has had a bonfire in their backyard knows that smoke can be really annoying and can ruin a great experience. I've never seen a fire burn this clean with little to no smoke as with this Solo Stove. Also, we love the portability. We have a concrete patio and pull it out of the bag and drop it wherever we want. It's portable and lightweight and doesn't leave any residual marks on the concrete after a bonfire. Because it burns so clean there is far less ash to dispose of after you are done. It also cools quickly so you don't have to sit around waiting hours before you pack it up.

Bought mine with the intent of using it on my patio. I will surround it with stacked bricks to keep dogs and kids from bumping up to it. The outside does get HOT. I posted photos of the few sticks of kindling I used with a sheet of newspaper to start the fire, and then photos at 15, 30, 60, and 120 minutes. The fuel is fairly dry, white oak limbs, 3-5" diameter, unsplit. I did not add any wood. The fire yielded 2 1/2 cups of fine ash. All of the wood burned completely in 3 hours. The sides of the stove were cool enough to touch in 2 1/2 hours.

Awesome fire pit. Truly can be placed on any surface without marking or burning. Wish the internal dimensions were just an inch wider to accommodate typical split log sizes. Portable. Gives off tons of upward heat. Roasting marshmallows can be tricky as this puts off much more directional heat than a typical fire, so be patient and learn. To perfect your roastin skills.

The Bonfire is well constructed, portable fire pit that you can use anywhere. Unlike other fire pits that rust after a few years of use, the Bonfire is stainless steel double walled which when cared for, will last you many years at home or while camping. If you are looking to add another camping tool to your equipment inventory, the bonfire is a must have. The fire burns cleanly and lasts a while.
