A blessing!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got my dad a solo stove for Christmas! He loves a fire and has tired many fire pits but unable to put them under his pergola. This has solved all of our problems. Also I get severe headaches from to much smoke! We have been able to sit and enjoy the solo stove with no problems! It is a blessing!! Thank you so much for a wonderful product!

No Smoke, so no Firepit Simon Says

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love being around a firepit on a cold night, but I do not enjoy having to regularly rotate around the fire trying to find an open chair where the smoke is not blowing in your face. And I hate me and my clothes smelling like smoke at the end of the night.
I've only had one fire in my Solo Bonfire since I got it, but it was easy to start, and smokeless after it got going. I got it with the pellet adapter, because I knew I could always get wood pellets if I couldn't find any wood out back. That also made it very easy to start. I just buried two, small fire starters that I got at a local retailer where I also got the wood pellets. I lit those to start the pellets and went inside. In about twenty minutes I had a full, smokeless fire.
The heat generated is not as much as a regular fire pit, probably because of the shape is not parabolic, and the firepit opening is so high. If you have four people around it and are fairly close you get a good amount of heat up high, but not much on your your legs or feet. Also, sitting that close was a little intimidating at first because of the height of the flames over the rim. It would not be as good with a lot of people in a circle around it. Nice to look at, and no smoke, but not enough warmth.
Someone I know said they have the heat deflector. They said that's a game changer because it spreads the heat down low and in a much larger circle. I may get one at one point, but it's much too expensive now. The fire pit was on sale, and while still high, I could justify it at that price. But, the heat deflector is about 75% of the cost of what I paid for the Bonfire. If the heat deflector goes on a significant sale (40 to 50%) I will get one.

I won the bonfire 2.0 at work and we love it. We have used wood and pellets since we bought the pellet adapter. I love being able to have a fire and not smelling like smoke after! This is my major award for the holidays!
