Without a doubt, I am completely satisfied with Solo Stove Bonfire. It was so easy to start and maintain the fire throughout the burn. Even after I left it out in the rain by, accident, I just poured the water out and started the burn. Well done Solo Stove for making my life just a little bit easier. Joe

Awesome fire barrel

I bought this to replace an old fire pit and was hoping the virtually smokeless claim was true.
I was first actually very surprised how easy it is to start a fire in this, the drafting/airflow is amazing even when just starting. No blowing or fanning required and almost zero wood prep was needed. I just made a few shavings with my knife and it was good to go. It was also interesting piling the wood in and basically starting the fire from the top of the pile.
After about 10 minutes the fire was blazing and there was very little smoke even with a very sappy wood.
I was blown away with how hot the fire burned, absolutely crazy! Be careful cooking marshmallows, they literally cook in seconds.
The moment of truth, we couldn't smell any smoke on our clothes after. Everyone was amazed. We had been considering a propane fire instead but I am glad we went this route, I honestly look forward to using it. I even think I could fire this up and put a grill on it and cook a steak in 30 seconds.
I bet the backpacking stoves rock too. May have to get one to try.

First, the good: the stove lives to its promise of being nearly smoke free. It's a nice design and a joy to use. Now the down-side: It rusts. Right away. Morning dew or a light rain will make it rust immediately, and I can tell that the bottom will burn through in a season or two. I'm really sad to say this, as I wanted to love this stove.

Works better than I thought

I almost didn't buy. I looked at some bad reviews and I was worried about the bonfire and if it would last. However, I went ahead and bought one. I am sure glad I did. Works way better than I ever thought. The fire starts a lot faster than an open pit. I have have tried it several time and it just burn so fast, easy and burns completely everything. Super easy clean up. I just can't say enough. I am blown away. The venting and burning system is awesome. Even if I wear it out it is well worth the money that I spent. Thanks guys and great product.

I like the quality and construction of the Bonfire. It lit up fast and burned with minimal smoke. Completely burned up wood. I would suggest they offer a screen for the top to contain embers. Otherwise it is a great way to enjoy a fire.

I bought this to use as a fire ring when camping. It is so much more. I use it as a great camp stove as well. Does a great job for meals which take a long time to cook.

Purchased one of these last year. Spent a week at my son's house helping him build storage building. Took it with me and every evening we would sit outside and burn scraps. Bought some white decorative stone and circled around pit. It is now a permanent addition to his backyard. So I just bought me another. Puts out a lot of heat with very little smoke, Worth every penny.
