Perfect for our backyard, especially this winter!

Love the Bonfire firepit from Solo Stove. We first saw one at our favorite brewery, and ordered our own later that night. Love that it is portable and burns really cleanly - we have a small backyard and store it in our basement when not in use. Great for this socially distant winter - burns hot and keeps us warm. Will also bring it camping with us this summer. 10/10, definitely recommend!

“Solo” Bonfire is “SoHi”

“Solo” is “SoHi”, because it has exceeded our expectations. We fired this baby up on Christmas Eve and it was 7* outside. We were amazed at how much heat this gave off and kept us warm at freezing temps. So .... the new name we give our new Solo Bonfire pit is “SoHi.”Great pit.... exceeds expectations!

A premium outdoor fireplace experience

As a rule, I don't typically buy anything that turns up in my Facebook feed as an advertisement. The Solo Stove did however capture my interest. I've been using Chimney style charcoal starters for years and this seemed to incorporate many of the same concepts. After a couple years of ignoring the Solo Stove, I finally decided that if it was garbage they would be out of business by now so I took the plunge.
What came in the mail was a very solid stainless steel fire pit complete with transportation bag (also very well designed but I haven't put it to very much use as yet). Starting the fire was a breeze with some scraps I found in my yard and a sheet of news paper. If you don't want to go through the trouble just throw tiny bit of lit charcoal or a small fire starter stick... you won't have any trouble with this thing.
The fire burns hot, puts out a nice radiant heat when full, and crucially, does not leave me smelling of fire pit the next morning. The secondary burn removes quite of bit of silt from the smoke and has the added benefit of being really fun to watch.
Perhaps my favorite contrast to my other fire pit (which is basically just a big brass tub) is the completeness of the burn. When it comes time to empty out the ashes the following morning there is barely anything there. The wood burns so completely that I can just dump it into the yard and never think about it again.
If you want a great fire pit for your back yard that is also trivial to throw in the included carry bag and take camping with you, the bonfire is a great option and it will likely outlast most of it's similarly priced competitors.

Great product

A family member had posted a video of his solo stove and it really made an impression. He highly recommended solo stove and after watching others get theirs, I ordered mine. The wait due to high demand was worthwhile. The strong radiant heat without the nuisance of smoke is perfect nearby our hot tub. It will be great for all seasons. The solo stove lived up to the hype.

Once it got going, it got going!

Smoky at first (with seasoned firewood), but once the fire was established, it was awesome! Left out overnight to cool and was easy to clean and store the next day. Heavier than I thought, but I like that it's sturdy. Glad I got it!

Great backyard bonfire!

Full disclosure: This is my first fire pit. But it meets and exceeds expectations in all venues.
It arrived timely (based on the notice of delay that was given at the time of order). It was well packaged and arrived undamaged. Easy to unpack. Instructions were clear.
The fire pit is intuitive to use for fires, and burns long, hot, and smokeless! There is a little smoke as the air heats up, but once going, it's a joy to sit by without the smoke smell. I have a "fire starting" jacket I wear as it gets going.
The embers burn so hot that all it takes is a quick addition of a log to get things going again. 4 logs per hour is about what I'm burning, which seems reasonable. YMMV.
Heat output is great too. We have seats set up about 4-5 feet from it and our legs are nice and warm.
Looking forward to many years to come with this bonfire!
