You Need One

We bought the Yukon for our family to be outdoors Christmas Eve thanks to COVID, however it rained like crazy. We bought one of these after experiencing this wonderful firepit in use on the North Carolina coast in November. Everyone stayed very warm and not having smoke in our faces as the wind was constantly changing direction was outstanding. Based on that experience alone, I highly recommend this product.

Cool but doesn't throw enough heat

The unit is great. Looks good. Definitely cuts almost all the smoke out which is nice but because the (midrange) unit isn't very wide - it doesn't heat a wide space like more open pits allow to warm a group. Actually, I was outside with 1 friend the other night (35' out) and we had to sit about a foot away from the unit in order to get warm... I do think a wider mouth would be beneficial to throw more heat especially if you are 2 or more people?

Caution

This is a nice stove, but be aware that the ask accumulates in the bottom under the permanently attached floor requiring it to be turned upside down to empty the ash. Thorough cleaning requires hosing ash out while upside down to drain.

I was a bit skeptical of the claims...WOW

I just received the BonFire pit for my birthday. It is very nice and the smoke free claims hold up. For the bonfire size, I would suggest shortening the logs to 15" or less as that makes it easier to manage the burn. I just take regular cut cord wood and use a Miter Saw to cut them in half. Works perfect.
If you've been eyeballing the solostove and been hesitant....do it now.

That Smokey Smell

We wanted a fire to keep us cozy but didn't want to smell like we were carrying the smoke on our clothing for days. This is better, not 100% smoke proof obviously. I like that there is a little, still gives the campfire vibe. But we love how easy it is to move and get started.

This gives off more heat than I was anticipating! I thought I might need the biggest one to really get that warmth, but the Bonfire puts off plenty. Happy with the purchase!
