Solo Stove First Use

Out of the box for wife's b-day. fired it up and it worked as expected. The design is like a very large barbie light. It burned good and fully. Smoke? It does smoke at first but after it is going very little.

I don't smell like a brisket!

I bought this after watching many videos and seeing the ads. Tired of buying a new fire pit every season. Also tired of how I smelled after burning one along with having my knees feeling like they were on fire while sitting around one. This stove directs all the heat to the top and radiates out for a really good circumference. No more knees burning up, no more smoke and solid flame. Since I have purchased mine I have had 3 other friends purchase one also because they like mine so much. Great purchase and hope it lasts at least 3 seasons!

I've owned this stove for several months now and have used it about 2 dozen times. Taken it camping and but usually use it in the backyard. It's beautiful and simple and burns extremely well.
My only annoyance is getting the ash out. You either have to shake it for what seems like forever or roll it forever. At home I use my shop vacuum to suck up the cold ash and embers.

Best fire pit I've found!

I purchased this to take on camping trips (with a truck camper). I tried it out and LOVE IT! Once it get's going, the air vents direct the flames toward the center and they super heat the air so it acts like a catalytic converter, crating less smoke.. You can see the gases combust around the vents along the rim of the stove. It is sturdy and when it's cooled off, you just dump out the ashes and you can stow it in it's included storage bag. For Truck or RV camping, this is perfect! It's heavy, I think over 30 lbs., but it's also stainless steel and should last a long time. I will definitely use this on my summer trips in the Sierra Nevada Mtns.

Solo Bonfire - WOW.

I have been car camping once a month with my son and his scout troop. the Troop tries to live the outdoor code. Some places they camp you just don't want to make a fire ring or extend the life of an old little used fire ring. So, I had been looking for a burn barrel type of thing to use when a fire would be appreciated but the location deserved to be spared a fire ring scar. At the last Winter Outdoor Games, which was quite warm this year, I spotted a bright burn barrel. Later, while it was unattended, I got my first look at it. WOW. I'm not a selfie person, I took a picture of just the Bonfire. Order one a few days later. Burned the wood I had prepped earlier, that evening. WOW. I have been using a measured amount of wood to get a feel for lighting it and burn times. It will almost light itself and the wood burns down to almost nothing. This is not a perfect blue flame sedate propane fired out on the deck set the mood can. It burns wood like, WOW. If your wood is dry you can set the mood in 15-20 minutes and then sit by a roaring fire. The Bonfire design seems to take advantage of some well known atmospheric engineering, organic chemistry principals and maybe solid fuel rocket booster experience. Simply put, the can within a can and the thoughtfully placed draft holes make this work like, WOW. Unlike the cut-off style burn barrel, which I was expecting to throw in the back of the truck, the Bonfire has a nice storage sack. I won't hesitate to pack it in the car trunk and take it wherever. Thus far I find the Bonfire stays relatively cool on the outside so it will leave no fire ring scars or permanently damage most outdoor surfaces. Next week I'll see if it melts itself through snow to the ground. Scouts just love a good bon fire.
