Solo Stove Bonfire Review

The most magically wonderful event that actually occurs, aside from no smoke tears, is the burn. When a fire achieves “secondary burn” or “secondary combustion” it actually takes on a completely different aura from a basic flame. This effect has always reminded me of an old Jimmie Hendrix video replicating and acid trip. The flames are ghostly and labor in slow motion. As if fire was not mesmerizing enough, this “Jimmie Hendrix” flame screams of Purple Haze.
All in, I flat out love this thing and give it 5 out of 5 stars. I can’t wait for the next bigger model and urge the smart folks at Solo Stove to start the wheels turning on the next bigger model.

Awesome Firepit

I hesitated for about 2 seconds before I took a plunge and ordered this pit. After using it one time I was so glad that I made the purchase. I am looking forward to getting many uses out of it. It comes with a very durable and good looking black carry bag as an absolute plus. If you are deliberating the idea of getting one, I say go for it today!

Really Captivating to Watch

This is a fantastic piece of engineering. The "after burn" effect of the upper airflow holes provides both a cleaner burn and a really captivating flame pattern. I only wish it was a tad bigger. This is a really good size to take with you car camping -- it can handle short logs in the around 12-15" range. However, for the backyard, I'd love to see solo stove offer a bonfire XL that can handle logs up to 24". Build it and I'd the first to buy one...

We used our Bonfire for the first time last night. Despite a temperature in the 50s, the Bonfire put out enough heat to keep us toasty warm. The photos of the product are unmanipulated--the flames really are as hypnotic as they appear in the product literature. My only issue is that I think the Bonfire would be improved if it had handles--the drum is large and slick, and getting hold of it to move, dump, or bag for storage isn't easy. Regardless, we are very happy with our purchase, and the Bonfire will get plenty of use both at home and on camping trips.

Been using this for awhile in our backyard with friends and take it along on our RV trips and now it has become our favorite piece of outdoor gear to hang out with friends. Love the fact that you don't end up smelling like smoke!

Honestly one of my favorite purchases of 2017

I have been trying to find a bonfire pit that is safe for a painted wooden deck and this goes way above and beyond that criteria. Once it gets going it is pretty much smokeless. It also cooked the logs down to ash so the cleanup is simple. The design is elegant and people love to sit around it. I am very pleased
