Clean and efficient burn

I eyed this for a while as a backyard fire pit to use on a deck or in the yard. One of the key selling points was the lack of smoke (odor). This is true once the fire is roaring. Initial startup will of corse smoke a bit, but once the convection process is getting a secondary burn there is virtually zero smoke. Even my neighbors couldn’t believe I had a roaring fire at dusk that they couldn’t smell. They thought it was natural gas!
One of the things I was worried about is how the ring performs, especially on a trex deck. For the first fire I used a cement board on the deck, then the ring and bonfire. After the fire was at full throttle, I used an IR thermometer and took measurements of the ring, mid sidewall and top of pit. The ambient temperature was about 84 degrees at the time. The ring was 92 degrees.l, the sidewall 192 and lastly the top over 700. My subsequent burns on the deck are without the cement board. The ring makes a big difference in functioning as a thermal break. General rule seems to be its 5-7 degrees above ambient temp. It’s easily touchable with a bare hand. Wouldn’t advise doing it elsewhere.
The radiant heat provided is good. The burnout time is about 4 hours from start with a full bonfire. The remaining ashes have been virtually nothing. Moreover, there are no chunks left behind as was common in other fire pits I’ve used.
In summary, while expensive it delivers on the promise of a clean smokeless burn you can sit around without the choking smoke typical of lesser fire pits.

Finally my own!

I've been watching Solo Stove videos and social media for a while. I loved the idea and purchased a few through work for raffle prizes and each time I gave one away, I was jealous. I finally bought my own back in the spring and have been enjoying it in my backyard and even took it up to the cabin this weekend. Love it!

The bonfire is awesome!

We live in town. We just had a padio poured last year and have been looking for a good fire pit. We ended up buying a solo stove bonfire. This thing is great! Doesn't put out a lot of smoke, puts off a decent amount of heat, and is really cool to watch burn. My family loves it! Great product.

Skeptical at first

I wasn't skeptical, but my wife was! She wanted a propane fire pit, but I went against the grain and went with the Bonfire. I know if we went with the propane, I know who's the guy that's always going to have to get the tanks filled! The Bonfire arrived in great shape, after a few fires the wife is now a believer! There is nothing like a real fire, and I don't regret this purchase at all. In fact after a couple of weeks, I ordered the winter cover, which is also of great quality. Having fun, and can't wait for the chillier nights to really enjoy this thing! Don't hesitate!

I'm simply amazed at how awesome this fire pit is. I've been able to light it in the rain. We've used in on a clear night and once it's burning it puts off amazing heat. We've shared it with family and they have been amazed as well.

Allows family fire nights

With family members with breathing issues we could not enjoy campfires. The Bonfire eliminates smoke and we now have wonderful evenings together.
