Love my bonfire
on June 23, 2020

I love my bonfire and it arrived a week after a windstorm gifted us with a bunch of green cottonwood branches. The solo stove ate it up and saved me several trash cans full of junk to get rid of. Works even better with seasoned firewood. Got some marshmallows and want to try roasting some hot peppers on there this fall. Remember kids that stainless steel exposed to fire gets hot and I got a nice reminder of that on my forearm. It is healing nicely though.

Skeptical...at first

We already had a brick fire pit in the backyard. Why another one? This is what I said to my wife BEFORE using the bonfire solo stove. Now the brick one has been abandoned. No smoke-more heat-easier to use-more fun! Liked it so much we’ve bought a ranger to take camping. Don’t think—just buy one. You’ll be totally satisfied!

You get what you pay for
Great quality, wood burns well if you cut it into small pieces, no smell of smoke on your body, easy clean up, I have a gas stone fire pit but I might use this more

Less Smoke and Burns all the Wood
on June 24, 2020

I really like the efficiency of this unit which burns all the wood into ashes. Great for s’more, hot dogs and anything that you want to roast over the fire. The attractive unit’s sides are perfect for resting your grill or barbecue sticks while your marshmallows brown or your kabobs roast. The flame colors are cool to watch and less smoke makes this unit the best I have ever used. Thanks Solo for this perfect unit at home or where we use it, on the road camping!

Couldn’t be happier!

What a wonderful invention! I first encountered a Solo Stove when a friend brought it to a tailgate last football season. I love back yard fires, but my wife does not enjoy our clothes smelling like smoke so I was considering purchasing a propane fire pit. However, after learning of this product through my friend I jumped at the chance of buying one. Now, we still have the satisfaction of burning real wood, and there is no horrible smelling clothes at the end of the evening!

Fantastic Firepit

The Solo Stove Bonfire fire pit is great. We've used it several times since receiving it and love it. It is mostly smoke free. You have to get the fire going pretty good. There is initial smoke or if you only have a little wood in there. One thing that would be helpful is more detailed information on where you can put the fire pit. I've had to scour through all kinds of videos and reviews to find out if it would burn grass, is it ok on a deck or what about Trex. The consensus seems to be it stays cool enough not to burn your grass, wood decks may be ok depending on size and how close to your house. This is fire so be careful! It sounds like putting it on a trex deck is not a good idea.
The Bonfire is easy to move around when needed. Be aware that large logs do not fit without sticking out. The size of the unit is plenty big for having 4 to 8 people around it. It does throw some good heat although mainly from the top.
It's very efficient so it will burn a lot of wood fast. All the way to ash. no chunks left over.
We also have the Shield. Works well, but the tools for it I think are too short
Keep in mind you can not douse this in water to cool it down when your done unless you want to ruin it. So, you have to plan for that if you feel you need to stick around until it is out, cooled off etc.
Overall, very happy.
