We used it last night for the first time on our deck. My daughter struggles with smoke from camp fires and there was absolutely zero. Burned hot all night. I would highly recommend this product to anyone

Beyond my expectations

I had been eyeing a Solo Stove for a while. I was hesitant to pull the trigger because of the price point and the thought of "is it really any different than a regular fire pit?" Last night we fired up our first family fire and it was great. The stove looks beautiful. The fire was great. The claim about smokeless was pretty accurate. I did smell a little smoke but compared to my previous pit it was a lot less. My family and I look forward to many more nights by the fire.

New Family Favorite!

Friday evening was spent with my husband and three boys all around our new firepit making s'mores, telling stories, and without any electronics! My teenagers said they loved it and we should make it a regular family activity. Setup and use was so simple and no one had to run from the smoke! Best purchase I've made this year!

I have used my solo stove bonfire twice since purchasing it.My initial impressions are positive.
First of all,this device tremendously simplifies the act of starting a fire.Just set it up with some paper and small pieces of wood,light it,and it's all set.
The second point is that the time from initial lighting to full campfire is at least cut in half.I never realized how long it took to really get a fire going until I got this thing.
Once started,this device will maintain a strong, hot fire by just putting wood into it .
It is also safer than a regular fire pit.It would be very difficult for the wind to blow flaming debris out of it or knock it over if it was unattended as long as it wasn't over filled.
Also,watching the flames swirl with the secondary combustion is a very entertaining experience.Cleaning it up and leaving no trace is also tremendously superior to campfires and fire pits.With total combustion,a fraction of the normal ash is left.
On the negative side,I would have to say that it's appearance is different from a conventional fire.That's the simplest way I can put it.Instead of looking like a campfire or a firepit,which our ancestors stared at for thousands of years,it looks like a "high tech device".
It also probably throws off less lateral heat than a conventional fire pit.You have to sit a bit closer to it than a conventional fire to stay warm.That is not too big of a deal,given that it is safer and hotter than a conventional fire pit.
The other issue is the increased amount of wood consumed,which is a direct effect of it's burning efficiency.Not a big deal,you are getting quality over quantity.
After using the bonfire,I purchased a solostove lite kit as a survival tool.

I purchased the Bonfire after watching and reading several reviews and so glad I did. This offers the functionality I was looking for to use on my deck while getting a real wood fire instead of propane. Easy to clean and store and would be great for taking on the go too. My whole family loves it.
