Not as great as expected

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wish I had more positive things to say about this pump, but overall, I found it to be just mediocre. It’s gentle and small, so would be fine for occasional pumping or short travel, but I would not recommend this as a main pump. I was able to use it while multitasking (working on the computer), but it’s not light or small enough to be doing chores around the house. The suction of this pump is not nearly as strong as other pumps I tried, and my supply was about half of what I usually get for a session twice as long. For example, I usually pump for 10 minutes and get about 7-8 ounces. With this, I pumped for 20 minutes and got about 4 ounces.
There is no visible timer on the pump and was using my phone to track the time. It also does not show you the levels and you must figure it out with practice. I liked that you don’t need a specific handsfree pumping bra for the cups – you can basically insert them into any bra. I also like that the cups are super easy to clean! The pump is loud, and the cups leaked at the seams sometimes.
I really wanted to love this, but it was a disappointment for me. Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for proving me with this pump to test and review!

Great for hands free pumping

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always had trouble with breastfeeding. All of my babies have stopped nursing all together long before 3 months old. I just had my fifth baby four months ago and I knew I was probably going to encounter the same issues. The issues have a lot of layers but I do know I have IGT and therefore simply do not produce enough milk. So I knew I would never be able to exclusively nurse but I hoped to still be able to nurse for as long as possible while supplementing with donor breastmilk.
When I got the Medela Pump in Style Hands Free breast pump I had already used three different pumps this time around. Two of them were ones you plugged into a wall but I hated being tied down to a cord. The other was a cord and hands free pump but it was simply not powerful enough for me. So I rarely used them and instead hand expressed all the time as well as nursed.
My first impression of the Medela Pump in Style was how simple it was. It did not have a ton of complicated instructions or anything. You could simply just put it together, put it on, and go. I loved that I was easily able to still do things while pumping like feeding my baby a bottle of breastmilk at the same time which saved so much time. I was pleasantly surprised that the first time I used it I got the same amount of breastmilk as I did with hand expression. So it definitely helped to empty me. I used it for a while and then baby all the sudden wanted to nurse way more often which I assume means I am producing more milk than I was prior to using the Medela Pump in Style.
Being able to save time and still be able to pump without being stuck was amazing. It allowed me to build my supply more than it probably has ever been. The simplicity of it was amazing even though I do wish there was a way to see what strength it is on so that I could go to certain numbers at different times. But overall I have been very happy with this pump and will continue to use it whenever I have need to pump.

Great Hands Free Option

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a larger chested mama, I was so excited to try a hands free pump! I have held off on purchasing a true hands free breast pump because I wasn't sure that they would work for my size - but I'm so thankful that Stellar Product Testing Panel sent this for me to try! And I now I know and can tell others, that it works!
This is a great pump for multitasking and I was able to work so much easier than getting set up with a hands free bra, plugging everything in, and getting all pump parts together like I'm used to. I loved that there are only three pieces to each cup - and they are easy to assemble!
It was also really easy to get my nipples in position! And while moving around, they never came off or moved out of place. I loved that!
The stand out for me on this pump was the pour feature!!! Makes it so easy to pour for fridge or freezer storage! Genius and made my life so much better with less spills to clean!
Things that were not so great:
I wouldn't say it is as strong of a suction as my other pump but that being said, it didn't really decrease my supply - I just knew that I wasn't likely going to get as much volume as I typically do. For me, it was worth the small sacrifice of an ounce less for the ease and convenience!
I thought the pump itself was heavier than expected. It was easy enough to move around when I was doing chores at home but it was heavier than I thought. It would be better for me if it could clip to my body or be a bit lighter.
This pump only comes with 21 and 24 sized flanges - I hope they offer larger sizes soon! I have a need for one 24 and one 27...so I believe the pumped would have worked better for me with the option to order and purchase a 27mm.
Overall, I'm so excited to have a hands free option that works with my size of chest and I will definitely continue to use as another pumping option (especially for on-the-go, in the car and around the house). A few improvements and this would quickly become a 5 star product for me!

Great hands free cups ok pump

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this breast pump from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I really wanted to like this pump more than I did. I was so excited when I saw the cups - they are completely hands free and very well made. You don’t need a pumping bra and they’re much more discreet than other hands free cups. But, the pump itself just wasn’t my favorite. While the cups are hands free, the pump isn’t. You can plug it into the wall or use the battery pack to make it more mobile, but you can’t move around freely with it. This would work great for someone at a desk. I also consistently pumped about an ounce less compared with other pumps, so it’s not a pump I’d use regularly.

Nice portable pump

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very nice portable breast pump. I was able to use this pump while being able to freely use my hands for whatever my baby needed. The fact that I was able to move freely & not be tied down by a cord was amazing for me. I love how it’s only a few parts to wash which makes for an easy clean up between pumps. I will say that it was a bit challenging with certain breastfeeding attire to secure the hands free pumps at times. With this pump I was able to pump a decent amount but not my normal amount I’m used to pumping prior to having this breast pump. What I loved the most about this pump was it really is hands free once you have the correct attire to wear while pumping.

Strong Suction and Easy to Clean

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this breast pump to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. There are pros and cons to this breast pump. The unit is small and portable making it easy to take to work or on the go. It isn't very loud. The battery pack is nice because you can use it where you don't have access to a power outlet. The parts are super easy to assemble and disassemble and also to clean. I like that there aren't many pieces to keep track of and you can set it up quickly. The suction is really good and strong and has suction levels you can adjust up or down. The pump automatically starts in "stimulation" or "let-down" mode, and switches to "expression" mode after 1 minute. You can press the "stimulation" button if you want to start or stop that feature throughout your session. The pump cups are easy to see through so you can check nipple placement easily and see how full the milk levels are at. You can use this as a single or double sided pump. I love the hands-free factor! This pump allows me to wear it while working on my computer or phone, reading, etc. and not have to sit there holding the flanges onto my breasts.
The biggest con for me on this pump is the lack of a screen/timer. I like to be able to see how long I have been pumping. There are also no indicators that show what "setting" you are using, only up and down arrows. That does make for simple, fool-proof use; however it makes it hard to keep track of what "setting" works best for you. I would prefer a screen of some type on the pump so I could see time used and suction level settings.
As far as emptying my breasts, this pump does a good job of doing so in a timely manner. I feel like it provides a good output and amount of milk and is comparable to my usual pump amounts. The pour spouts on the cups are easy to pour from. There is sometimes a bit of milk that stays in the flange part after you end your session, so beware of that when taking off the pump.
I think my favorite part about this breast pump is how simple it is to assemble and disassemble. The fact that there aren't a ton of tiny parts to clean like there are in other hands-free pumps I have tried is a huge plus. It's so easy to clean and use. It gets the job done

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this breast pump to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. Overall, it’s a decent pump for the price. It gets the job done. It’s easy to work, not overly cumbersome to clean , and it keeps me from having to wear a special bra in order to keep my hands free.
The suction was decent once I figured out the position. I’m not a huge fan of the large, yellow membrane positioned at the top of the cup, as it blocks me from seeing if it’s positioned well. I also had issues getting the O-ring back in place; I had to adjust and twist it into the correct angle along the breast shield after every wash. As far as multitasking while using it, I was limited to whatever was in reach since I was tethered to the pump which needs to be plugged into a wall or separate battery pack.

Love a good hands free pump

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve always been a fan of Medela pumps with my previous 3 children and was so excited to finally try the hands free option! It’s such a game changer to be able to multi task and not feel confined for such a large part of your day. It’s easy to assemble, clean, and use. Having only 3 parts to wash keeps things simple! Suction is great and didn’t going hands free didn’t have any negative affect on my supply!
