Pump in Style got more stylish

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As background, I have breastfed/pumped for 3 children now each for a year. I have used over 5 pumps while at work, traveling, at home caring for my children, and in the car on my commute. My body is pretty responsive to a pump and I now know what key features I look for in a pump.
I received the pump in style hands free from Stellar Product Testing Panel, and honestly I wish I could purchase a spare set because I think I would instantly replace my current pump with this pump. I was a little skeptical to try it out as I have used another “wearable” pump and it did not fit well and I lost a good portion of my milk while transferring to a storage container or feeding device. This was not the case with the pump in style! I was so pleasantly surprised.
While using the pump in style hands-free, I pumped very similar output to my current pump and in the same time frame (roughly 7-10 minutes). I felt well emptied after each pump session. The pump was extremely comfortable even with the suction increased. It was a little bulky in my bra, but not any more than other pumps.
This pump was very easy to setup, clean, and sterilize. It is a very simple three piece design and the parts fit easily into a Madela steam sterilizer bag. There were minimal tiny crevices, making washing easy. Initially, I did struggle somewhat to completely close the collection cup, but after 2-3 times it became a breeze. The collection cups are transparent making it easy to check for correct fit and to assess milk flow which I loved ! It was easy to line up and get started.
Not having to wear a pumping bra was such a perk! I usually wear a pumping bra to work daily as I don’t have time to change into one during my quick breaks. The pump in style hands- free fit into all of my regular bras! I even slid it into my bathing suit comfortably and it worked great!
My other favorite feature was the no tip base as I often have very curious children around or am pumping while driving or in non ideal places at work without ideal workspace . No one wants to lose a drop of their liquid gold! The base is sturdy and prevented any unwanted spills. The transfer into a collection bottle or feeding bottle was also very straightforward and actually way easier than I expected. I truly didn’t spill or lose any during the transfer !
The only downfall of this pump is the collection cups are 5oz. It was not an issue for me, but if someone was an overproducer or makes more than 5oz / side during a pump session they may have to stop mid session to transfer the milk and restart which would be an interruption. I also wish there was a way to make it completely free of the tubing and machine, but the pump itself was smaller overall and more lightweight than many pumps on the market.
This pump had an option for battery powered cord if an outlet wasn’t available and came with 2 sizes 21 and 24mm. My only suggestion would be to offer more sizes available for purchase and have a car charger for purchase as well that’s compatible.
Overall, I was able to multitask while pumping which is a necessity as a busy mom! I produced my typical output in the same time frame and was very comfortable utilizing the pump in style hands-free. I was so happy to wear a regular bra and not have to change into a pumping bra to express milk. I was very impressed with this pump and am so thankful I got to try it!

Comfortable and convenient!

The pump is great. Strong suction, easy settings and one tube makes it easy to set up. The stimulation mode goes for a minute and then it goes to expression mode so it was nice to not worry about changing settings. I took it while traveling and it takes up little space in any bag. The battery pack is a great option if you are on the go or without power for a while.
The cups were so easy to clean and assemble. I love that you don’t have to use more than one bottle. The pour from the collection cup is smooth and they’re comfortable to wear inside any maternity bra. I used them for 80% of my pumps and my supply stayed great.
This set up has won me over even my other pumps i own.

Best pump

Hands Free Pump

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to receive the Pump in Style Hands-free from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I have tried hands-free cups from other brands, but these by Medela are my favorite by far. There are a few reasons these cups are game-changers:
1- they are super lightweight. They don’t sag in my bra, so suction and fit stay consistent throughout pumping session. This also makes it more comfortable and easier to actually be hands-free.
2- minimal parts! These cups only have a few simple pieces to put together. The pieces are easy to clean (not many crevices), and I can put them together so quickly!
3- they’re easy to empty. I can simply pour the milk into a storage bag without having to disassemble the cups.
These cups really have helped me, as I pump 5 days a week at work. I like that the pump can plug into the wall or I can use the battery pack if no outlet (requires AA batteries). Pump is small enough to fit in a bag easily.
A few possible improvements:
- the pump does not have a timer or any type of display or light. I have to check my phone or watch to see how long I’ve been pumping. Since there is no display, you just have to change settings to your comfort level (which really you should do anyway while pumping).
- a rechargeable battery pack might be nice, but in the case of power outage, the AA battery pack is beneficial.
- while the cups are hands-free and very portable, the pump cannot clip onto your pants or anything to be truly portable to allow you to care for babies, etc while pumping. It is helpful for a work environment though. Although of course, medela does have a portable pump option.

Medela does it again Best Pump Brand Ever

This is by far one of the best pumps I have used in my breast feeding journey. I have breastfed, and pumped for two babies. I have tried multiple different pumps, and this is by far my favortie one.
First the pump itself is magnificent, efficient, and effective! It's compact and easily ready to for on the go! The Medela company included a wall plug in, as well as, a battery pack for when you need to pump and an outlet is not available. I used both wall plug in and the battery pack, and the effectiveness and efficiency of pump was the same!
Second, the cups are comfortable to wear in your bra. I absolutely love the fact that Medela included the 21mm flange size. As I typically have to order them or order inserts. The inserts are not always has effective.
Third, my personal favorite about this pump is that the cups only have 3 parts! The flange side of cup, the membrane, and part that holds the milk. Thank you, Medela for thinking of Moms! Trying to wash multiple parts or little parts, while attending to a baby and other childern can be pure chaos! The cups them selves are super easy to wash! Maybe 2-3 minutes at most spent washing them. The first time I tried to dissamble, it was bit difficult but after a few times it does get easier!
Fourth, multiple ways to pump! As mentioned above you can pump while pump is plugged into wall, or utilize the battery pack and pump on the go. The pump is moderately quiet, just loud enough to know it is still pumping.
Fifth, transparent and free standing cups!!! I had a breast augmentation so in order for me to be able to pump effectively I need to be able to see nipple placement, and movement. Then after milk collection when your getting ready to put milk in bags or bottles , you can easily set the cups on a flat service with out fear of them falling over! Literally not a drop of milk is left behind in these cups! I am what they call a just enougher milk producer, so every drop is literally like liquid gold to me.
Sixth, and Final one! The tubes connect to the top of the cups!!! They do not tangle or get pinched in bra.
If you are shopping for pump look no further than this one! Trust me, I have basically tried them all! I have tried other pumps where the cups go inside your bra tubeless, and with tubes. I have tried the traditional flange and bottle outlet connected pumps. I have also tried the in universal in bra cups.
Save yourself time and money! If your looking for a pump that is as diverse as you, one that can be used for the middle of night pump session, or on the go in the pick up line at school, then look no further!
Medela is the the gold standard in breastfeeding pumps! Their innovative designs always seem to be tailored to just what moms need!

I LOVE IT, BEST PUMP EVER!

I was able to get daily chores done, get ready for the day, make food for my family all while pumping, and not to mention it’s very easy to clean and take on the go with you anywhere anytime.

Actually doubled my output

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I only pump a few times a day the rest of the time my daughter nurses. As she’s gotten older I’ve noticed my output is not as much and had to throw in another session. Since using this for a month now I’ve been able to cut those sessions down to 2 and less time because this pump has doubled my output. It’s also whisper quiet, super comfortable and a breeze to clean. The kicker is that I have yet to spill any milk going from cup to bag with no drips! Cannot thank medela enough for allowing me to test this out. Don’t hesitate just buy it. You won’t regret it

So convenient!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pump checks all the boxes. There are only three parts to clean and as a busy, working, new, first time mom, that is a must. Because I was wearing the pump in my bra, I wasn't tempted to watch the milk flow. I love that I can have both hands free while pumping. My milk output was fantastic. The included battery pack let me get things done around the house while I pumped. Overall, this is a great product and I for one highly recommend!
