Needs better quality control

We had the dryer professionally hooked up and ended up with a gas leak. After having everything looked at the leak came from inside the dryer so we called a GE repair person. The leak was because of a part being cross threaded and was not if screwed in tight. The problem was very clearly visible and should have been caught before shipping. This was the second one the repair person had seen that day and the professional that hooked everything up said he has seen the problem several times in the last year, not all where GE models.
Took a week to get replacement part and with two kids our laundry piled up. With the amount of money invested into the washer and dryer you would hope that GE would at least inspect all parts that could be a potential health risk like a gas leak.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love our gas dryer

Our new gas dryer if great. Lots of different settings for every type of load. User friendly. And the Wi-Fi connection is great. Alerts when dryer is finished. You can even tell it to keep tumbling.

Lint problems

I have lint problems with this dryer. I attached a photo. Lint gathers on outside of trap. The last load I dried had lint all over my socks. I empty the lint trap after each load.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello Disappointed D. Your feedback is invaluable and can be used to aid us in future product design. We will be sure and share your comments with our dryer design team. Larger lint might collect like yours has on top of the lint filter area. Make sure to clean the ductwork from dryer to outside your home every couple of years. Undissolved granular detergent may leave white powdery residue on fabrics, which can be mistaken for lint. Feel lint deposit by rubbing between fingers. If the residue is from detergent, it will spread out. This usually increases during winter months because of water temperatures being colder. Also mixing "lint producing" fabrics with "lint collecting" fabrics allows lint to transfer to other garments, instead of being trapped in the lint filter. This is one of the most frequently found causes of lint residue. We hope this helps you out. Be safe and sound. Geoff@GEA
