While the spools may be "free" they do charge you for postage and processing. The spools are small and the line is not all that tough. It takes me about 2 spools to trim my yard and my yard is not all that large. The Worx trimmer is a good piece of equipment. It is light weight and has plenty of power and the battery stays charged for a long time. I just wish they had a better design for the spools and more durable line. It is frustrating to have to stop frequently to rethread the spools or to replace them.
