I have my second line trimmer. The first one had nikle-cadmium batteries. Loved the trimmer which can be adjusted to various angles and lengths, plus it has detachable wheels that can be added fie edging. After 3 years the folding handle broke off. That is plastic and that's why I only gave 4 stars. I bought the second one that uses lithium batteries which last longer and are much lighter. Wish they would make a better quality folding handle.

Spools starts fine but then begin to break. Appears the strands are melted together. Once you split them appart, weakened ateas are creates.

I took a chance on the WORX Free spools for life thinking that it could save me a lot of searching at the stores. The packages arrived as promised, and a good thing because my edges were looking shabby. The spool loaded without a problem, and away I went! So, my friend, yes this really WORXS! The free spools for life is a great progam. My WORX trimmer has been top quality for 3 years now. And when I need to replace the spools I can just go online and order them, pay shipping and I'm done.

My husband bought the work trimmer and he said it came with the spools for life. I thought, even if they are free they probably make it so difficult you won't want to be bothered. I was completely wrong. It was so easy to reorder and they came pretty quickly. My favorite part is the string never breaks in between spools unlike most others.

I have now owned and used this unit for about a month now. I wish the battery would go a little longer. I get 20-30 min depending on the heaviness of the grass. I seem to go through a lot of the string spools also. I have to admit I am using it near a lot of lava rock and that may explain that.
