Bought it about a month ago strictly for vacuuming/mulching. I had one about 3 years ago, worked quite well, but this new unit is a dog. Very inefficient in picking up leaves from pile and from top of trimmed lawn. The old unit was much more efficient.

I went all out and purchased the mulcher and extras because the fact I have just about ever other basic worx tools. I cannot believe how well the switchable cordless screw driver works. Heck I'm a paraplegic and was able to utilize the weeder for my entire yard.
Sadly, the mulcher just doesn't meet the worx level I've come to expect.

This tool is heavy and not designed well. The shoulder strap supports only the discharge bag, when all the weight is in the trivac itself. So I have to support all the weight of the machine on my own, in the most uncomfortable arm position. Also, I paid extra for the "all metal" mulching blade, which doesn't mulch the way they claim it does. when I emptied the bag, there were still whole leaves mixed in with partially cut leaves. NOT what is advertised (18:1 ratio). Nope! VERY DISAPPOINTED Worx! This product actually makes the job HARDER! I am better off just using a rake!

does not vacuum the leaves

This machine does a very poor job of vacuuming up leaves. It is faster to pick up the leaves by hand. The shoulder strap is way too short to be of any use. It does an ok job of blowing but there are better blowers on the market.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] bought it and was hopping it was good but it's not good if you want use it as a vacuum to pick up leave not a blower I have a different blower that is much better

Motor Issues

I had a WG502 model that had major issues with the bag zipper wearing out and also the brushes wore out causeing a huge loss of power. No replacment parts or service centers. Wont buy again. Allot of money for a short time of limited service

Mulch bag

Difficult for a short person to use the mulcher- bag drags and is uncomfortable. Grinds leaves up nicely. Loud like all blowers. The bag does not last - zipper gives out and seams break around attachment. Hard to tell where the blower is aimed since it is so far beneath the vacuum. I don't have the metal version yet, so the machine works well.

Everything I was hoping for

I have used other blower/mulches and this is the best yet. Simple assembly, light weight. I love the variable speed motor and how fast it vacuums and mulches, even wet leaves. The switch from blower to vacuum is a delight making the job much faster.
I would recommend this to a friend!
