[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love to vac/mulch my leaves and metal impeller is solid. Blowing leaves and cleaning grass off sidewalks has enough power. Variable speed control is a plus. For the money and if you can use this electric model as opposed to a gas unit, don't be shy, pull the trigger and buy it!

The bag on the other hand is horrible. I'm 6' tall and even with strap fully extended I can't put over my shoulder. This is a huge problem and needs a better design. POOR ENGINEERING

I love that this can vacuum up leaves without vacuuming up the stones. That was a big selling point for me. It is a little heavy and I wish the nozzle on the end was adjustable.

I bought a 100' 8-guage extension cord but the unit overheats. What "size" extension cord does the manufacturer recommend?

Hi Judy,
This unit has 120V. The total length of cord that can be used is 25, 50,100 and 150 feet cords. The amperage rating is 10-12. If you are using a 25 foot cord the gauge has to be 16, 50 foot cord the gauge has to be16, 100 foot cord the gauge has to be 14 and 150 foot cord the gauge has to be 12.

I purchased this item a few years ago and this was money well spent. I have a huge water maple tree in my back yard that produces far more leaves than it should. This leaf vac is so much easier and faster than raking. Usually requires 2-3 passes to collect all the leaves and I end up with 15 or more bags of leaves when all is done. I have C.O.P.D and osteoarthritis and raking is out of question. My neighbors trees that are on my property line also donate the bulk of there leaves on my yard. This mulch/ vac is good at getting under and around obsticles in the yard. I highly recommend this item and I rarely give reviews.

On my 2nd year using Trivac mulcher. Have two large maple trees that require alot of leaf pick up. Very seldom plugs up, only when I get to pick up too much at one time. Only use a fraction of leaf bags compared to just raking and stuffing. Bag does not work well on shoulder because it is not level. need to hold strap in hand. Just takes some practice. Blower great for getting leafs out of tight places. Would buy another one!!
