Vacuum Mulching Simplicity

This is my first vacuum mulcher after many years of raking and cleaning up my yard. The leaves on my property fall primarily on rocks so as I used the WG509 for the first time, I was pleasantly surprised that I could grab leaves (even wet leaves) with this vacuum from an uneven surface. The resulting mulch was fine-grained and what used to take well over a half-dozen bags fit in two.
But it gets better. I also have a lot of zebra grass that need to be cleaned up. I'm not saying this vacuum can or should mulch tall (8') grasses after cutting them down but after taking a few passes on them with my lawn mower, the dry grasses were appropriately sized for this machine to handle, I was able to mulch a dozen pretty large plants into 3 garbage bags. I wasn't expecting this so I'm pleased to have the versatility. The metal mulching components work well.
The vacuum isn't too heavy for most folks. You can cover a normal suburban backyard in a few minutes. The bag is handy, about the right size and the zipper enclosure is solid. You just need to adjust the handle length so it can be slung over your shoulder. Having a cord to navigate isn't always ideal but I imagine the weight of a battery on this machine would make it hard to lug around.
I used the blower occasionally to loosen up clumps of leaves. I already have a lighter weight battery-powered blower that is easy to maneuver but having the blowing option on this tool is handy as its one less tool to get out.
I'll probably use this vacuum twice a year - late fall and early spring so I'm hoping it will last a good long time.

We replaced a black and decker that wasn’t ergonomically correct with this one. My wife who is 5 foot 2 inches loves it and has even volunteered to do yard work this year

A Must Have

I brought this after watching an infomercial on TV and thought this is exactly what I need. Have not had an opportunity to use it yet but I hope it is everything that was shown on TV.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I saw this item on TV and then I took a look at my back yard and said oh no not this fall. I went and ordered this baby and it cleared my four bags of leaves within an hour and a half. I recommend getting the hose attachment it will same lots of time.
