Foiled by a leaf

1. I bought this with the hope of reducing time spent raking. I have two chestnut trees in the back yard. The leaves of the chestnut trees are larger than the opening of the vacuum end of the tri-vac. The tri-vac would simply suck them onto the end like a piece of cardboard or heavy paper. The leaf would block the tri-vac suction and prevent it from functioning.
2. The blower control button needs to be incorporated into the handle like an accelerator pedal. Squeeze harder for more blow. Release for less blow. Similar to a chain-saw. Then when one is blowing and needs to change positions, leaves will not be inadvertently blown.

Easy To Use

Received this two weeks ago. Unit features and functionality are great compared to my prior gas powered unit.
The 18:1 grind ratio may be correct for hickory and white maple leaves but is overstated for pin oak leaves as shown in my photo. The oak leaves are shown in the front of the compost pile. The rear leaves were done by my 30" lawnmower.
For the price and convenience of use, I'd recommend buying this unit.

Good but....

Ok so this thing has excellent power, sucking up big leaves from a river birch behind my townhouse. Only problem is it overheats after second bag of leaves and Just stops working.
I have to let it cool down which is time consuming. Also the bag is awkward and uncomfortable. I think a backpack type of bag is a better solution than to having all the weight of the vacuum and bag on one side of your body.
But its definitely powerful and will clean your leaf debris.

The Trivac weighs 9.3lbs. This is attributed to both the blower tube and vacuum tube is attached as one piece versus the need to switch out tubes. The weight of the bag with debris may also contribute to the extra weight. If it is being used as a blower, the bag does not need to be attached. This may lighten the tool and make it more manageable. We do not recommend the Trivac for use with acorns, nuts, gumballs, pine cones, branches, and anything that may become a projectile to reduce the risk of damage/and or injury.

Great item!

I purchased this 2 weeks ago and its amazing! My brother got one for his birthday and said it was awesome, so I found it and purchased it for myself! Not too much mulching of leaves in FL but it works great and gets rid of grass clipping too! Who knew?! Love it!
