[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the New Battery 16 inch Chain Saw. Works better & longer than I expected. No mixing oil & gas, No pulling & straining to get it started. Charge Batteries, install Batteries, Squeeze Trigger. Cut Wood. Can’t get much easier than than.

Disappointing performance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had this about 2 weeks; in the first 30 minutes, it made some kind of grinding noise, and the blade quit. The motor would run, but there is an awful grinding noise. Didn’t even get to finish the first cut with it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Planned obsolescence--Worx won't sell replacement

Planned obsolescence--Worx won't sell replacement brushes. Works well but in a couple of years when the brushes are worn, you need to throw this unit away and buy another!!

If your WORX tool becomes defective due to faulty materials or workmanship within a period of 3 years from the date of purchase, we guarantee to do one of the following, though you may be required to pay shipping costs for the return of the product to us and for shipment of the repaired/replaced product to you:
Replace or repair all defective parts, or,
Repair a defective unit, or,
Replace the unit with a new or reconditioned unit.

I was using the saw for the first time and after only 30 minutes of use the internal gears got hot enough to melt the plastic sprocket (part 50019119). It now no longer works and there are no replacement sprockets available. it is a expendable part on an electric chain saw that nearly every other company sells. So it needs to be kept in stock. The 'auto' oiler is also a drip feeder so you need to empty the oil out of the saw and store it on a oil mat all the time as it drips oil all over the place. Wish i had gotten a Stihl.

At this time, it is just on backorder, we will indeed get replenishment of this part! Please ensure that the bar and chain have been properly oiled and lubricated. The proper functioning of the automatic oiler can be checked by running the chain saw and pointing the tip of the chain bar towards a piece of cardboard or paper on the ground. If an increasing oil pattern develops, the automatic oiler is operating fine. If there is no oil pattern, despite a full oil reservoir, then unplug from the power source, remove bar and chain, check for and remove any and all debris, reassemble bar and chain tension properly and repeat the process if no oil is showing, let us know as soon as possible. Also, remember your new WORX chainsaw is covered under warranty! Please never hesitate to contact us directly, we are more than happy to help! Automatic Oiler not functioning...

Would be a great saw if the Automatic oiler was functioning! Chain now brown even with me manually oiling it!

Can't kill it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this chainsaw 4 years ago because I was fed up of using a gas saw and putting it down only to have it stall out and need restarting
At the moment I am using it to Mill slabs out of a 26 inch dis black cherry and I haven't even had the motor get hot . Awesome little saw . Not a large gas saw but not 500

Great power

Did a great job cutting my tree trim logs for fire wood. Logs were 20’ from garage so 25’ extension cord worked well. Plenty of power.
