The battery did not fit my weed trimmer. I thought all tools used the same battery.

WORX PowerShare Line is operated by 20V batteries so that we can have one universal and interchangeable battery for all WORX tools. All other voltages have been discontinued so we can focus solely on the 20V line. The plan is for the convenience of our customers as they will not need to purchase different batteries for different tools. We would like to understand your concern in detail. Battery will last years

I have used WORX tools for about 10 years now and have accumulated 7 batteries and 2 quick chargers. I charge them up and take the batteries inside when average temp drops into the 30s and all 7 are still running strong. I have 2 blowers, 2 edger, 2 drills, 1 impact drill, 1 hedge clipper, corded chainsaw and 1 leaf shredder. WORX, SunJoe and SnowJoe are my go-to for homeowners tools. I rotate the batteries and charge after each use. I'm 73 and have keep tools in Garage for front yard and in backyard shed for easy access.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I purchased the WORX - 20V Power Share 2.0 Ah Battery (50032030) To go with my new Worx-20V Power Share string trimmer. It's perfect for me because I tend to get carried away out on the property and this way I don't have to stop because I have another battery with me. Easy peasy just swap it out and chug right along. Love it!

Geez, where to begin for time flies? I'll have to say 8-10 years ago I purchased a combo kit: line trimmer and blower. To this day after being dropped, dragged, accidentally coated with product from an exploding adhesive canister, both products work flawlessly. Seriously, I cannot make this stuff up. Ease of usage, portability, back up battery, efforless line cord replacements and mobility made me throw my old stuff away. Just a really reliable plug & play product.
