Great value

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this to replace a 20+ year old unit. I didn’t realize how loud my old unit was. This is so much better and quite. I barely hear anything when it is in use, and the upper tray is great for utensils.

Poor Rack Design, Insufficient Cleaning

Pros:
1. Sound quality is good. You can hear it at times but the sound is very low. Sometimes you hardly hear it and you think it's not running.

2. The top rack has wider spacing along the sides for larger cups, mugs, etc.
4. The fingerprint resistant finish is awesome. I lucked out not having to pay extra for that feature but it would be well worth the extra money for your sanity!
Cons:
1. For me the bottom rack is a horrible design. I know most manuals show the "perfect" loading diagram but do people really have every single dish or bowl perfectly matched? The spacing on the bottom rack does not allow for any of my bowls to fit. The spacing is either too narrow or too wide and the bowls keeping falling over. I am constantly rearranging the bottom rack to get a decent number of plates, bowls, etc. to fit. The manual shows putting bowls on the top rack but that would be just about impossible because of how the top rack is designed.

2. The top rack is not as bad as the bottom rack but most of the middle row tines are all slanted in (half the back tines are slanted to the center and half the front tines are slanted to the center). I can put plastic container tops in between the tines but not much else unless you lower the rack. The ONE good thing about the top rack is the spacing along the sides of the rack. They are wide so I can fit oversized cups, mugs, glasses, or containers there.
3. Interesting third rack. The book shows it's used for silverware but I don't know anyone that would place their silverware individually on the third rack, lining each one up to perfectly fit in the slot. You can place other items on the rack but there are too many sections to really make it completely useable. It doesn't clean items on the rack that well either.
4. The long silverware container that goes on the bottom rack is just 6 compartments. It shows in the manual one side comes with a lid but mine did not. I'm not sure what you would put in there. They show big spoons, etc. but how many large utensils do you use? I feel like most people would choose to lay their big spoons, etc. on the top third rack. I feel like that container is a waste. Fortunately, I saved my silverware container from my old dishwasher which has individual holes to insert the silverware.
5. There are two side tilt down shelves on the top rack that are useless. I had the same type tilt down shelves in my old dishwasher but these shelves are angled in a way that they are useless.
6. I saw a lot of reviews about how spacious the dishwasher is. It is spacious but with all the wrong size slots, tines, and bad design, you end up only being able to put half the amount of dishes in than if you had a better designed dishwasher. I have never been this disappointed in an appliance purchase.
7. It seems like it cleans half the dishes half the time. I have tried different detergents but it seems like it could be that it needs more sprayers positioned differently. I do have to put it on the “high temperature” setting for it to clean what it does clean. I also do not feel it "drys" the dishes.
I know every appliance is not perfect but most of the features you don’t like about an appliance you can overlook because of the features you love about it but this one is very poorly designed and every time I use it I want to return it.
I would be more disappointed if I had paid full price for this dishwasher. I bought it on sale and did get the fingerprint resistant finish which was a plus. I would have returned it if I didn't have it installed by Lowe's but now I feel like I am stuck.
I would not recommend this dishwasher.

Super Cleaning

Super quiet!
