Best Collection Cups Ever
on July 20, 2023
Posted by: Anonymous
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Hands-free Collection Cups as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and these collection cups are amazing! With 4 little kids and a newborn, I am always needing to be somewhere with someone and am never able to pump until late at night. These cups have changed that because now I can be cooking dinner while pumping at the same time and it has been such a life changer! The cups are super easy to setup and clean we never had any trouble with them! It’s so nice to not have to take apart the entire cup while cleaning it too! My favorite feature of these cups is just being able to attend to my other children while pumping for my newborn! I would highly recommend these collection cups to anyone! They have been such a life changer for our family!

Works perfectly with the Freesyle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received these cups from the Stellar Product Testing Panel and they work perfectly with my Medela Freestyle. They are so easy to clean with only 3 parts and I love that you can see how much you have pumped through the cup. I found them to be really comfortable and easy to use and they slip into a bra really well as long as the bra is stretchy and has some give to it.

Hands Free Pumping
on July 21, 2023

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this breast pump accessory to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I was excited to try the cups and I loved the efficiency of them. They were pretty easy to use out of the box but there was a learning curve. The first time I pumped with them, I leaked all over! Once I got the hang of sealing them and placing them, I was able to go about my day as if I weren’t even pumping! My favorite time to use them was while driving. I’d put them into my bra, turn on the pump and drive to my errands. It was easy enough to remove them and pour them into bags without spilling. I found the O-ring annoying because it was another piece to clean but it wasn’t the end of the world. I removed and cleaned it every time but that’s just me. The major plus was that I wasn’t stuck pumping at the wall and could get things done around the house or on the go. As a busy mom, that definitely made an impact on my day!

Pleasant and easy pumping experience

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with these hands free breast pump collection cups. Slide them into your bra, connect to tubing and start. It's that easy! And then when the cup is full, slide it out and set down securely on a flat surface so none of your precious milk spills. Pour into your storage bag using the handy pouring spout, then wash the 3 pieces in less than a minute! These collection cups make pumping a walk in the park!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.
Pros:
- Covered by insurance! This is huge because it increases mothers access to hands free pumping affordably because it is covered by insurance.
- Considered hospital grade pump and therefore you will not sacrifice on output. I was able to pump just as much with this pump as with my regular Medela pump so output was not impacted which is huge
- 3 parts to clean. 3 large parts which are easy to wash. I like that there are no small parts to keep track of
- hands free is huge. I really can walk around and take care of things
- fits in nursing bra - don't need any special apparatus
- discrete (don't have huge bottles sticking out from your shirt). but not FULLY discrete because your chest looks huge. Not an issue if you wear looser clothing
Cons:
- I used the freestyle attachment and I was able to walk around pumping and keep the pump base on my wrist but anytime it would touch anything it would shut off or increase in speed (it is touch screen so any bump would adjust the controls). This was really annoying and decreases the "freedom to move around" when every bump causes a disruption
- I found the cups to be difficult to see-through so it was hard to adequately see how much I was getting during the pumping. In order to know I would have to detach everything and pour to measure. I would like it to be better visible how much you are pumping (clearer markings, markings on the inside where mommy can see)
- With the see through issue is also the issue of nipple alignment. Everytime I pump I have to adjust and re-adjust positioning because it is hard to see through the pump and know the placement. The only way to know is to start the pump and then watch my nipple being pulled to see if I need to adjust.
- assembly could be better. I find the cups hard to click in to the other plastic piece. One time I thought they were closed and pumped and when I un-did my nursing bra, all the milk spilled from the bottom.... I wish it was easier to click them together and obvious when it was closed.
- the tubing pushes into the top of the cup and it is very hard to push in. The instructions say "push as hard as you can" and you never know if you pushed hard enough because there is no CLICK. I would prefer a click in place system

Pros and cons

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this breast pump accessory to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I really liked that the cups were much more discrete than my typical pumping accessories . I was disappointed that the sizing was not consistent with my other Medela flanges - I mistakingly used the same size I typically use, and began developing sores on my nipples. I could have avoided this if I had thought to reassess my size for these specific cups though. I noticed no difference in pumping output with these cups, which was a pleasant surprise! It is difficult to pour the milk into bottles however after the fact - a little always seemed to leak out (which is no good, breast milk is liquid gold)! There were some definite pros of these, but definitely a few cons as well.

Fantastic Hands Free Cups
on July 21, 2023

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These hands-free cups are amazing. Seriously. If you're hesitating, just go for it and try them. They work amazingly with the Medela Freestyle pump. It comes with two flange sizes, which is nice. You do have to move a silicone O-ring if you need the 21mm, but they give enough instructions; it was no big deal for me. Putting them together every morning is pretty much seamless, although I do sometimes have trouble lining up the pieces if I'm tired. Speaking of tired, I so appreciate that there are only three pieces to clean, and I appreciate it ten-fold when I'm tired! I love how nicely the cups sit on the counter--I think they look pretty when full of milk. I haven't once worried about them tipping or getting knocked over since they're so stable. These cups make my pump an easy part of my morning routine when normally it's stressful figuring out how I will fit my pumping in. I am a productivity queen with this pump; it's amazing to be able to pump and still do my normal routines. In the morning, I get the pump going, and then I do my twins' diaper changes, eat my breakfast, get the coffee started, and pour my toddlers cereal--and at the end, I have 6 ounces of milk!! Now I can't imagine life as a pumping mom without these cups. I received this breast pump accessory from the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

Favorite Wearable Cups
on July 21, 2023
Posted by: connieezy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For anyone that's looking for a rather discrete, simple and comfortable option to go hands-free while pumping -- look no further! You're now looking at one of the better options that's out now. To caveat, I AM an exclusive pumper, which means I spend a lot of time pumping and washing pump parts every.single.day. This doesn't even include the bottles for feeding, but I digress. These cups are single-handedly the only reason I am still saying sane now that I am 6mo postpartum. While I do have and use the typical flange set-up while home, I now exclusively use these cups whenever we go out (I haven't touched my other wearables since I got these).
These cups have THREE parts to wash -- yes, THREE. And no little pieces that require a special brush to get into the little nooks and crannies. Assembly is quick, and they're super lightweight while wearing them. They're not ridiculously large like some wearables (though yes those require motors while this one has tubing involved) but for us larger-chested women, I don't need to have things protrude out even more. This is also important to allow me to pick up and hold my baby without her affecting the pump session. I use these a lot especially while I'm in the car (both as passenger and driver) and have never had issues with it interfering with me holding the wheel or the seatbelt path.
Now I do have the Freestyle Flex hands-free, so I do have the original cups that came with the pump. These ones are SLIGHTLY different. The cup is a little smaller in size and the closing "click" is now buffered out from the inclusion of an O-ring now. The manual does say you do NOT need to wash the O-ring each time, so it is still 3 parts to clean. I only removed it once when I first washed and sterilized everything, and haven't touched it since. I also do use these with my regular 19mm inserts that I use with my regular flanges too and have had no issues. My output is the same relative to when I use my workhorse pump at home. Pouring the milk out afterwards is super simple from the little spout, and the cups do stand up on their own if you set them down (so havent had any issues of milk spills here!)
I really do recommend these collection cups for anyone looking for an alternative solution to hard plastic flanges. Yes these cups are hard plastic too, but they're comfortable and sometimes I forget I'm even wearing them. They've given me the ability to go out and about with my children and still manage pumping without having to worry about being engorged or clogs. I was given this breast pump accessory to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. However, even if I wasn't -- I for sure would've purchased this extra set to have as a quick back-up to the ones I already own. They are SO worth it.
