Was great at the beginning.

I have had mine for 4 months now and it was great to begin with. Now though the suction is not as great as it was, the battery stops charging at 75%, and if I set it down too hard (not hard at all) it turns off completely and won't turn back on until I plug it it. It's already frustrating to have to hand express after pumping for 40 minutes but to not be able to use it at all makes it super frustrating. I hope mine is just defective and these aren't wide spread issues with the pump in general.
I would recommend this to a friend!

BEWARE: low suction

I bought this pump to replace my Freestyle Flex (previous model) when the battery would no longer hold a charge. It was unfortunate because I was 9 month into my year of pumping. I thought that my supply had just gone down but actually this pump hardly sucks even on level 9 and was not fully draining my breasts. Today after pumping 25 min with this pump and not able to get any more out, I plugged my old Flex into the wall and got another 3 oz on one side and 1 oz on the other in just 8 minutes. Back to back there is a noticeable difference between the power of the two pumps. I'd say a level 5 or 6 on the old Freestyle Flex is equivalent to a 9 on the new version. I'm going back to the old pump and will just have to plug in. It's unfortunate I dumped money on the new version. I had hoped for the freedom of not plugging in, but it's just not an effective pump. Don't waste your money like I did.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great pump! When it worked…

I absolutely loved this pump! Easy to transport and use wherever I needed to use it. However, 11 months in and it has just stopped working. I’m not done pumping yet and I don’t know what to do now. I am so disappointed.

Powerful, But NOT Convenient

I would say that the power on this pump is comparable to the Pump-in-Style Max Flow, and not super loud. My biggest issue with this pump is it is a touchscreen, and does NOT lock! If you tap it while you are moving around, it pauses. It is also rather bulky, and does not have a convenient way to attach it to your body. Medela could benefit from creating a silicone sleeve with a pants clip (like the Elvie Stride). Lastly, I am not in love with the new Medela flex connectors. The minimal pieces of the connectors is nice when it comes to reducing dishes. They claim to allow you to recline slightly while pumping, but that is so far from the truth. They are designed the wrong direction to allow for that. I have to sit straight up or lean forward slightly to prevent backflow into my flanges. The material the power button is made of is not durable at all, it peeled up.
I definitely wouldn't recommend this pump to friends, and I'm not sure I will be staying with Medela for my next pumping journey.

Amazing pump that cleans nicely

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this breast pump from the Stellar Product Testing Panel, and am so very happy I did. The pump is amazing and compact. It’s very easy to use and lightweight. The smaller profile shape of the pump and the cups made discreet pumping effortless, and the motor of the pumps is very quiet.
This quiet was great for meetings where I didn’t want to overwhelm the meeting with pumping noises. And was just as nice to have the quiet pumping when watching a movie or relaxing.
These pumps are amazing. I loved that they broke down in three pieces. The three piece design made cleaning a breeze. This was especially welcome after pumping in the night and being ready to go back to sleep. I would recommend these pumps to anyone.

Very effective and great hands free pump

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this breast pump. This medela pump slides right into your bra & is very discreet! Being bigger chested, it was wonderful to try a product that didn’t add much to my cup size but was effective at pumping the milk.It is very light weight and relatively quiet. I was able to do household chores like folding laundry and loading/unloading the dishwasher. I also used it numerous times while driving or in the car in the school pick up line. My favorite part is that there are only 3 parts to wash and it’s very easy to put back together without having to read the instructions again. The only con I have is that it turned off twice from my arm hitting it when I had it inside my leggings pocket but when I wore it in my jeans pocket I never had any problems. There are so many amazing things about this pump and it is a game changer with the in bra cups!

Freestyle Hands free Gives Freedom While Pumping

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am breastfeeding my second baby and have used a number of different types of breast pumps over the last few years. I was given this breast pump to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I am super pleased with the discreteness of the Medela Freestyle Hands-free Double Electric Breast Pump. If I put the tubing under my shirt, it was not very visible and I was able to do video conference calls without anyone knowing I was multi-tasking! I am big busted, probably a 36G right now, and I was able to put the cups right into my regular nursing bra without issue. Other than being discrete and not hooked to a wall, my favorite feature of the Freestyle Hands-free is how few parts there are and how easy it is to clean. It is probably the easiest to clean and put back together of any pump that I have used and it is at least the 5th or 6th pump that I have used so that is saying a lot. I found it easy to get the pump on and aligned, although I do wish the cups were a little clearer to be able to see better. I felt that my milk output with the Freestyle Hands-free was similar to other wearable pumps, which is a little less than what I get if I sit down with a standard pump. I think part of that is that I express more with "hands on" pumping, and the multi-tasking that wearable pumps allow and the shape that covers more of the breast isn't great for hands on pumping. Overall, the freedom the hands-free allows me is worth it to me as I have pretty high and stable supply. Overall, I would highly recommend for mamas looking for a bit more freedom while they pump.

Medela quality with hands free convenience

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pump is a game changer! Before this pump I was constantly tethered to an outlet, now I can be anywhere doing anything while pumping. The pump is completely discreet, you can even attach the pump itself to your pants while around the house. This has made breastfeeding more manageable for me as I'm able to multitask while pumping. The pump has the power in the Medela product line to help get maximum breast milk. I can not recommend this product enough! I wish I had it with my first 2 children. Thanks to the stellar product panel for allowing me to review and test this product.
