Great output, and very portable

This pump is extremely compact and convenient, the design makes it easy to move around without feeling tethered. I like that it’s simple to use with straightforward buttons and minimal learning curve. It doesn’t feel overly complicated or overloaded with features. It also has a timer which helps keep track of time, very important for multitasking on minimal hours of sleep :)
Milk output is comparable to the Pump in Style Pro+, which is a big plus, especially for something this portable. It’s not as discreet as some fully wearable pumps, but it hits a nice middle ground. You can definitely use it while doing chores or moving around the house, and it’s portable enough for outings.
It would be even better if it had clip on the battery pack to make it easier to wear. You have to either put it in a pocket, around the wrist, or hold it.
This has been my favorite pump because it has excellent output and it easy to use while multitasking.

Wonderful suction, terrible buttons

Truly love the output I get from this pump, however when trying to be active or on the move, the touch screen buttons always change suction, mode, or just pause all together. This would really benefit from physical buttons. The battery can get me through 4-5, 30 minute pumps.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good fit and suction. Easy to take apart and clean. Can do 2-4 pumps per battery cycle, depending on length of pumping session. I wish the touchscreen was conductive because if any part of my non conductive clothing touches the panel, it changes the settings or pauses the pump. It makes it really annoying when walking around with it in my pocket or on the lanyard. A belt clip would be a nice addition Not annoyingly loud.

I’m so impressed with the Medela Hands-Free Freestyle pump! As a busy working mom, the hands-free design has been a lifesaver. It’s comfortable to wear & surprisingly quiet. I love how compact it is. I can pump while working, or on the move taking care of my kids. The parts are simple to assemble and clean which is a huge time saver. This pump has made my breastfeeding journey so much easier and more manageable. Highly recommend it to any mom looking for convenience without sacrificing performance.

Do not recommend this pump. Worked fine at first - not the best at milk removal but was adequate for a secondary pump. Biggest complaint was that the motor is clunky and the buttons constantly turn themselves off when I am walking around and pumping.
However, fast forward to 8 months in and I can barely get suction to work. Have replaced tubing multiple times and bought a full set of replacement cups and still having issues. End up pumping each breast separately since it is the only way to get semi effective milk removal now but have ended up just buying a new pump since it is impacting my supply. Very disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

With this pump, I have gotten mastitis three times once every 15 days since my baby was born until I bought a spectra.

Sad to see it go

Madela makes their products to completely fail on you just after your 1 year warranty is up. PURCHASE right before or after your baby is born. I loved this pump, it’s great on the go as a working mom but 8 months into pumping I experienced battery issues, it freezing or not charging properly. I purchased a few months before baby was born & now 9 months in the pump has completely stopped. It froze while on, stopped pumping all together. Went through troubleshooting & nothing…so sad & ironic how it died right after its year warranty was up. Thank god I have an old plug in pump NOT from this company. I’ll never purchase a pump from them again.
