A must for all pumping moms!!!

Medela's Freestyle Flex pump allows moms to pump hands free!!! This pump is the best breast pump I have ever used. I received this gem as part of the Steller Product testing panel . The pump fits in the palm of my hands and weighs a few pounds! I can pump hands free using this pump while wearing my pumping bra that keeps the flange in place. No more being trapped to outlets anymore!! As a busy mom, the feature that I enjoy most is how "free" I can be. I usually just put the pump in my pocket of my jogging pants and I can multi-task when I am at home. I've used this pump in my car to be honest while taking a short trip and I was able to relieve myself and express milk for my baby!!!! Never before could I do that in the car. All of the parts are dishwasher safe which is a second benefit. You can literally go up to 2 hours of pumping and get 2 sessions in before needing to charge the pump. The set that comes with the pump is very easy to assemble and use. There is no learning curve with this pump which is another benefit for new moms. Seasoned moms such as myself appreciate the freedom this pump gives us. Thank you Medela for making life easier for pumping moms. There's nothing better and healthier than breast milk for babies that all moms want so badly to be able to give their baby. This pump makes it possible!!

This Little Pumps Got Some Power

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Breastfeeding is a wonder experience but let’s face it, it can be stressful sometimes and the last thing you really want to be thinking about is whether or not your pump is going to be up to your standards.
Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this breast pump, now let’s get down to the nitty gritty of this Medela freestyle breast pump.
Pros:
Handsfree option – this pump is completely handsfree and not to mention, you don’t need to have a fancy pumping bra on either for this to work. The pump is fairly easy to put on in the correct position, comfortable to wear and not overly heavy. Additionally, when the pump is full it isn’t overly heavy or slip-off either. But the most obvious would be the fact that you do not to be tied down to get your pumping session complete, you can accomplish your other tasks on your mounting mom task list.

Suction – this pump offers 9, yes nine levels of suction and two different modes. Compared to my other handsfree pump, the Medela most certainly has more suction power for a more powerful pump and rest assured you can ensure that the pump is effectively draining each breast.
Cleaning – with only 3 parts to clean, cleaning out your pump after or between uses isn’t going to be the massive chore that can be the case with some of those other pumps. After cleaning, it’s also easily put back together, no guessing which parts go where. Just quick and easy because who has time to be fooling around with tedious pump parts while being a busy mom.
Cons:
Noise Level – while the hands-free pump is discreet in the sense that it can go into your bra and not be seen, someone would definitely know that you’re pumping from the sound and while it’s not overly loud, it isn’t silent either. A trade off for the power behind the pump I suppose but either way, a pump has got to do what a pumps got to do.

Tube – one more slight small con to this pump is the motor for the pump is external and not on the actual breast piece itself like some other pumps and therefore; some tubing is required to connect the two pumps (or one) to the motor itself. This “y” shape hook-up isn’t overly cumbersome, yet it does take a little getting used to. While the pump is marketed as “hands-free” this fine print feature isn’t a deal breaker in my books, especially when you take into consideration the power that you’re getting with the added hands-free function.

Convenient but breaks

The first one of these we bought got a little bit of milk into the pump unit about two weeks after starting so it would no longer turn on without getting very hot. Figuring it was user error, we got a second. This one lasted about 3.5 months and now does not turn on without being plugged into the wall, defeating the purpose of a portable pump. No liquid has gotten in this time and we haven't left it plugged in aside from charging. Given this pump is not totally covered by most insurance plans, it hasn't at all been worth the cost.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It WAS Good

I loved this thing, I was so excited to have a portable and wearable pump! It worked great for several weeks, then suddenly I saw a noticeable drop in my production. I figured it was "that time of the month" and kept my pumping regimen. However, I was at home and unable to nurse one day and used my Spectra pump and pumped twice as much in 5 minutes than it took in 15 minutes with the Freestyle. Also, I cannot find any replacement parts or extra cups (would be handy to have a set at home and a set at work).

Doesn’t take a charge. Only had it for 3 months.

I bought this a month before my little one arrived in September, I started pumping when she was about 6 weeks old. I do not pump regularly but now that I’m back at work I do need to pump during the day when I’m not breastfeeding. Today I started pumping at a full battery and writhing 12 minutes my pump died. Now my pump is not charging. I’m so incredibly disappointed. Such a waste of money.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Freestyle Breastpump is True Freedom

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have thoroughly enjoyed my Freestyle Hands-Free Double Electric Breast pump, which I received courtesy of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. It has allowed me to go about my life freely while being discreet enough to pump on the go.
My previous pump, although satisfactory, was quite bulky and cumbersome. It made pumping in public or even at my parent's home while visiting almost impossible. With this pump, I have been able to pump while at work, painting my new home office, shopping and running errands, and during my oldest child's basketball game. I can truly be on the go, and if I felt it was obvious at any point, I could throw on a cardigan or sweater, and it would lessen it.
The suction levels were also ideal and enabled me to extract as much breast milk as possible.
The pump was intuitive to understand and use, and I could not turn back around now. I love this pump's versatility and the freedom it has given me.

So great for multitasking!!

Prior to using this pump, I dreaded the logistics of pumping: setting up the parts and pieces, having to get a pumping bra on, cleaning all the various pieces afterwards, etc.
Ever since switching to the Freestyle Hands-Free, I no longer have the mental block and save myself a good 10min per pumping session.
Cleaning: it’s only 3 parts vs. the usual 5-8 parts to clean! So easy to take down and set back up and soooo lightweight!
Easy to pop in your bra: I no longer have to wear a specific pumping bra and can just pop the collection cups into whatever bra/tank top I'm wearing.
Multitask: I frequently pump while on the Peloton, cooking lunch, leading a work call, etc. It’s quiet enough that people don’t hear it and discreet enough that my husband is often surprised to learn I’m pumping. It also only has one hole (for pouring milk out) and unless you go completely upside down, it won’t spill a drop!
I thought that I would get annoyed by the pump tubing aspect but honestly I just tuck the pump into my waistband or wear it on my wrist and it doesn’t bother me. I’ve considered a full in-bra motor pump but knowing that those are usually around 8 parts to clean and assemble, definitely cannot imagine going back to that!!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Overall great purchase

I purchased this pump after doing a lot of research for a portable/ wearable pump that would suit out pumping needs. The pump overall is great. I choose this pump because the pump can hook up to both kinds of collection cups. I liked that it could be used as a back up house pump if needed.
Pros: there are only 3 pieces to clean and they are easy pieces to clean too! The charge on the pump lasts for a while. I get about 2-3 hours of pumping per charge. The suction is great also.
Cons: the collection cups say they hold 5 ozs, however I would say 4 ozs is more like it. After it fills above 3 ozs, it is easier for the milk to slosh around when moving and leak out of the top. It's not a lot when it happens but I can tell that it had leaked when I am done with my session. This issue could easily be fixed by adding a plug to the drain on top. Cost. I feel that the price is slightly high.
Overall I am happy with my purchase and would make the same decision to purchase this pump if I had to!
