Designed with Real moms in mind

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One word. Amazing. When I say this pump is a game changer, it’s an understatement. I truly feel this pump must have been designed by moms. I was lucky enough to receive this pump to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel, and am I ever grateful!
As a mom of 2 working full time, pumping has been a daily struggle, until
Now. This pump has been life changing. The hands free, battery powered technology makes it easy to wear while working, doing household duties, anything. As a large breasted woman I was apprehensive about whether this would work for me as previous breast pumps didn’t function well hands free. Since the Medela freestyle hands free can be worn with any nursing bra, it gets the support it needs to maintain a good suction even with large breasts.
The control panel is great and provides way more suction settings than most pumps. I especially liked the timer feature as it’s easy to forget how long you have been pumping for when you are free to do other things.
Another huge plus is the pump really only consists of 3 parts so it is very easy to to clean and easily fits in my existing sterilizer.
For me, there are two downsides to the wonderful design of this pump. Since the pump is hidden away in my bra, I really need to monitor how full the collection cups are getting because it has overflowed on heavy supply days. The second is that transferring the milk to another bottle can be a bit messy if the pump is very full. However, I would gladly take these drawbacks to get the amazing functionality of this pump… only wish I had it sooner!

Game changer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I am going to be honest. I was skeptical when I received this pump. I though there is no way these cups will stay in my bra and fit and actually collect milk in a way my regular freestyle pump would. I thought I would spill milk while collecting it and while pouring it into bags. I used it once and I was sold. I put my old flanges in storage. This pump is everything it says it is. First of all there is 3 parts to clean. That's it. It is so simple. Easy to put together, easy to take apart. The cups fit great. The first time I pumped I got my usual amount of 50 mls on one side and 20 on the other which is just as efficient as my regular pump. However, with this pump you don't need a special bra to make it hands free. The cups fit in my regular nursing bra, they fit in a sports bra, they fit in my regular "grown up" bra. I was able to take my baby out for a walk and pump during the walk. No milk spilled. Easy to pour out of the cups, which are graduated so you know exactly how much you pumped. I love the fact it's a double pump makes pumping faster, however, if you want to pump only on one side you can easily turn it into a single pump. It's a closed system which is so wonderful. It makes my pumping journey as hygienic as possible which is important to me. My favourite feature though is the fact the cups don't need a special hands free pumping bra. You can use whatever bra you already have. I use the medela microwave bags to sterilize my pump parts and the cups fit in the bags! I remember when I opened the box and I used it for the first time I kept saying to my husband "They thought of everything!" To me it truly feels like a lot of thought was
put into this pump which feels so great about an expensive product like this. Overall, I would recommend this pump to everyone who pumps. It's hospital grade, hands free, easy to clean and efficient.

Life changing pump for a hands free mama

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this Medela hands free pump from the Stellar Review Testing Panel, and was very excited to try it out!
As a busy mom to a very active 10 month old, I was in need of a pump that allowed me to get things done and multitask efficiently, and this pump was perfect for the job. I loved how easy it was to put together, and it fit well into both a nursing tank and a nursing bra, which meant I was comfortable in those rare moments of sitting down, as well as on the go. I could take it virtually everywhere with me, which was especially handy for when I need to run errands. I was finally getting dishes done and dinner prepped while pumping!
I was also impressed with how easy it was to clean, it only has three parts and not a lot of nooks and crannies, so clean up was a breeze.
It does vibrate a lot when it's in use, especially on higher vacuum settings, so while it's still quiet it definitely shakes things up. The vibrating feeling on the skin also took some getting used to, but it definitely wasn't a deal breaker and I acclimated pretty quickly to the sensation.
One of the most important things for me is the effectiveness of the pump itself, and I was very impressed with the amount of milk I was able to express, I found it much more efficient than my traditional pump.
Overall I would absolutely recommend this pump to anyone needing convenience, portability, and freedom while pumping. It's as discreet as a pump can get, and it's easy to clean and effective at its job. Hands down my favorite pump so far!

Hands Free pumping

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A big thanks to the Stellar Product Testing panel for giving me the opportunity to try this pump! What a game changer! I really enjoyed going hands free, it made such a difference in the enjoyability of pumping.
Before pumping seemed like so much more of a hassle and I was not as motivated to get the pump out. With the Medela hands free I wore it all the time! Just a simple pop into your bra and go! I loved wearing it while doing chores around the house, or I often would bring it with me when I had to go out somewhere and would wear it while driving and then bam! Fresh bottle when I got to where I needed if I was in a pinch for time.
The only changes I would make for the product was the little holes on top where you pour the milk after (as pictured) could leak if you bent over to far (as learned while doing laundry). Other then that though, if you closed it good there were zero leaks! I wouldn't say it is discrete enough that you could wear it around and not be noticed, but it is a wearable in the bra size.
I would also love if the string on the controller was longer so you could wear it around your neck, as I often was tucking that part between my breasts in my bra as it didn't reach great into pockets. Not a deal breaker by ANY means, but a lanyard would be handy!
The sucking power on this pump is unreal! I kept it around a level 3 or 4 and boy even a 4 was STRONG! I think it would be very powerful for anyone who needs the higher levels. I wasn't ever loosing suction while moving around.
This pump is very easy to wash and comes apart in three pieces which was awesome. It also holds a charge incredibly well. I got probably a dozen sessions before I had to plug it back in. I also LOVE the timer feature on the controller. Being able to just look down and see how long you have been pumping for is SO handy. No more timer set on my phone!
I loved that it came with two nipple flange sizes. I finally was getting great output pumping when I went down a size. The large cups while arent the most discrete, come in handy when you get great output. Overall I would highly highly reccomend this product. It is powerful, long lasting, easy to clean and convenient for on the go or just around the house.

The Best I Have Tried

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the hands free medela as part of a stellar product testing panel and I have to say I was excited about this product before I even used it because I just generally love medela products. I have been using the pump in style prior to receiving this model and I have to say they both have pros and cons but the hands free pump is hands down my favourite of the two for the obvious reason that you can multitask while using it which you actually can.
You are going to want to use a tighter bra if you are doing anything heavy duty to keep the device attached to you but for it being a portable wire free device the pump power on it is impressive. I have actually pumped in the car while driving! I love that it shows you how much battery is left and its so easy to plug in and recharge.
The only negative I can think of is you need to really make sure everything is put together properly or it will leak all over you but I think that applies to all pumps and is easy to avoid.

Finally some free time while pumping

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As someone who exclusively pumps, I was SO excited to receive the Medela Freestyle Hands Free pump as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I had always considered a hands free pump, but never wanted to pull the trigger because I had heard that they weren't as strong as the traditional pumps. I am very, very happy with the results of this hands free pump. While I did use the hands-free bra with my other pump (Medela Freestyle Flex), it was never truly hands-free as the pump and bottles stick out . I loved this pump for a few key reasons:
1. Made it easy to pump because I could just throw the cups under my regular bra and t-shirt and go. Yes, they did stick out and it didn't look totally natural, but it was much better than switching to the hands-free bra and walking around shirtless if I wanted to attempt to get anything done
2. The output was VERY similar to what I got from my previous pump, which meant I could confidently use it
3. It was very quiet

The one thing very different between this pump and other hands-free pumps is that the motor is separate, and not in the cups. Which is a positive because it makes the cups smaller and it is more powerful. However, it means that you have to carry around the motor separately. I would put it in my pocket and it didn't really bother me, except sometimes the buttons would get clicked as I'd move around, or I'd be wearing something without pockets. I would suggest Medela maybe add some sort of carrying case/belt for it, and perhaps a "screen lock" so buttons don't get pressed accidentally?
Overall, amazing pump and I'm very happy I got to try it. I would definitely reccomend.

Best thing stuffed in my bra since cutlets

Stuck it in my bra and off I went to Daycare pickup. Compact and discreet enough, I felt comfortable popping in and out to pickup my toddler. Talk about multi tasking, by the time I’m home I just pull them out and set them in the fridge as is until I can bag it. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this pump.
