The best pump I have used

I have used many different pumps and styles- I exclusively pumped for my twins the first couple months and now breastfeed with still pumping to maintain a stash and keep my supply strong. This pump makes is so easy to use while managing two 6 month old babies & a 2.5 year old.
Pros: - Does NOT leak!! This is so important when moving around, I am not one that can sit still and ensuring my milk doesn’t go to waste is so important.
- only three pieces! I cannot express how amazing only having three pieces to clean and to put back together is!
- so light weight and compact, hardly feels like I am wearing a pump and allows me to still hold my babies if needed without them pulling on tubing or grabbing the pumps
- super discreet, I can pump wearing any shirts and the cups fit in all my nursing bras. My chest definitely looks bigger but it is easily hidden, allows me to still have some privacy, which means I can pump while on a walk or grocery shopping.
- it stands on its own. I can set the cups down with milk in them and they won’t fall over.

Cons:
- it’s a little hard to see that your nipple is properly in the flange, it is something after time that gets easier and a mirror helps so you can see how to line it up correctly
- still has tubing and a separate pump motor, this does make for a better and consistent motor but it’s still another piece to carry around.

So lightweight and easy to use, I absolutely love the rechargeable battery so I can move around while I’m pumping.
Very comfortable and so easy to clean too! One improvement I could suggest would be a larger milk receptacle for heavier milk days, otherwise, amazing product!
I truly love how discreet this pump is and have already convinced two of my girlfriends to switch out the previous pumps they had on their registry.

A comfortable way to pump

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Freestyle Hands Free Double Electric Breast Pump exceeded my expectations. I was looking forward to trying a hands-free pump after years of using a traditional pump. It is so simple to plug in and setup right out of the box. The cups are easy to assemble, easy to pour from and a breeze to clean. As a busy mom of two children, I truly appreciate how few pieces are involved with the whole thing. One of my favourite features is the fact that I can nestle these into my nursing bra and work at my computer. I will admit they’re not exactly discreet, but I am comfortable wearing them and they do not interfere with my work, nor do they spill out when I lean too far forward. I also love the convenient measurement lines on the side of the cups so that I can check my progress. I would make sure you get flanges that fit you properly as I did find the suction quite strong and due to how you attach these to your body, it was hard to see exactly where the nipple was sitting in the flange. Overall, this is a convenient, comfortable way to pump and I do feel that it will last me a very long time. Makes pumping and life so much easier

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pump is a game changer. Most mamas I know hate or hated pumping. Pumping every 2 hours is a lot. I didn’t have a choice, because my sweet boy just doesn’t latch well and gets frustrated easily at the breast.
This pump changes everything. It pumps as much milk as my primary pump. It’s easy to wear around while I’m getting things done or for comfier contact naps. I even wore it to the grocery store under a large sweater. It does make an obvious sound, but I personally wasn’t bothered if people knew I was pumping—babies need to eat. Prior to using this I found my milk supply to be decreasing, but with this pump I can easily put it on when I’m up overnight and take advantage of those night hormones. It also is easy to clean which makes the process even easier—especially if you’re pumping every 2 hours. I found the max fill to be reasonable—given that I liked the discrete sizing of it and to me that was more important. Well done Medela. I wish I could buy this pump for every new mom who struggled with breastfeeding and/or pumping. 110% recommend. A must have breast pump for a busy Mom

As a Mom of twins, my hands are literally full! I rely on having an efficient breast pump that will maximize my output (I have two little mouths to feed) in the shortest amount of time, while maintaining comfort and freedom to help my busy twins. The Medela Freestyle Hands Free Double Electric Breast Pump does just that! It is a portable and discreet breast pump that can be easily placed into any bra that I am wearing and can begin pumping. No need to change into a specific pumping bra or wondering where your pumping bra is!
Some of my favourite features of this pump include the ease of use, comfort, long battery life, ease of pour and of course being hands free! I appreciate the comfort of the suction compared to other hands free options on the market that have actually left me with skin peeling. The Medela Freestyle Hands Free Double Electric Breast Pump has a strong suction but also quite comfortable that allows for long pumping sessions in comfort.
The long battery life has been beneficial while travelling. I pump twice a day and was able to last an entire week on vacation on a single charge.
When pouring the milk from the collection cups to the bottles it is easy and straight forward. I have used other hands free pumps where the collection cups were hard to pour and created a lot of spills which lead to milk loss… not what you want to see after a pump session #liquidgold.
My favourite feature is how discreet you can be when using this hands free pump. I was able to sit in a restaurant while using this pump and be comfortable. No one stared as they had no idea I was even pumping…no one could even tell with my shirt on.
There are a few areas that I believe could be improved upon including a wider selection of flange sizes. Medela currently only has 2 options (21 mm and 24 mm) options. I think a smaller size would benefit a lot of women who are looking at this hands free option.
In addition, the power bank is quite large (same size as the Medela Freestyle Flex power bank). It does have an option to have a strap around your wrist or my personal move is putting it into a pocket or fanny pack around the waist to carry around when you are busy (there are options). If the power bank was smaller this would allow for improved hands free functioning.
The large flanges and collection cups do take up a lot of space in my countertop sterilizer and the microwaveable steam bags so it does require an extra microwave or run of my sterilizer compared to other pumping parts.
Overall the Freestyle Hands Free Double Electric Breast Pump is a great choice for Moms who don’t have the time to sit and be strapped to a pump, Moms who are on the go and Moms who need their hands at all times (I think that’s all Moms!). If you’re looking for a pump that is comfortable, discreet and will get the job done— this pump is for you! Thank you Medela for giving me my hands back!

A great pump for on the go by a trusted company

Originally I was getting by with my manual pump for nights out or occasional dad feedings at night, but when I found out my oldest son had to stay in the hospital for up to a month things changed. I wanted to continue breast feeding but I would need an electric pump to do it.
Luckily this pump popped up, I had been researching other pumps on the market and Medela’s name came up again and again. They were one of two top contenders for me to purchase.

Things I loved:
- Portable, fits in my nursing bras and is mostly discrete under a hoodie.

- Long battery life, 2 hours straight charge lasts me 4 plus days
- Easy to clean and assemble, it’s obvious where the pieces go and quick to assemble them.
- Easy to use, I figured it out without the manual first try
-Larger milk draw than my manual pump in less time.
-Double pump, two at once meant I wasn’t lopsided and it was way more efficient.
Things that I would improve:
- The controller is a bit too bulky to be on a wrist strap, I hit it on everything and accidentally turned it off while pumping a bunch.

- The cups didn’t stay in place if I picked up my baby and I’d have to readjust afterwards.
- The suction is effective and efficient but not as comfortable as my manual pump. It feels somewhere between a tickle and an itch (this could get better with more time using it).
Overall it’s a great option for my Use case. I pump most nights in the evening while I do chores and getting ready for the next day. Also in the morning while I’m having my coffee and the baby is playing, it’s afforded me the freedom to get more done and be confident my baby will be fed.

Great for Multitasking

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to receive this breast pump through Stellar Product Testing Panel! I had used an older version Medela single breast pump with my first baby, and so was excited to try a hands-free and double pump for my new baby!
I love love love how this pump fits right in your regular nursing bra (no need to buy a special pumping bra to be hands free!) and if someone wasn’t looking closely, they’d not even notice it’s there. The controller is small enough to fit in the back pocket of my jeans, so I don’t need to worry about holding on to that either. I was able to blow dry and style my hair while pumping, which as a new mom is a very rare treat. I’ve also made dinner while pumping. The ability to multitask is priceless as a busy mom.
I also like the different pump settings and that you can pause your pump and come back to it, and I appreciated that it keeps a timer of how long you’ve been pumping. As a new mom, you’re often told to pump for x amount of time to help establish milk production, so I found this feature to be helpful.
I didn’t give it 5 stars for two reasons. First, I learned the hard way you need to be pretty careful once you’ve collected the milk as the containers are a little wobbly once you take them out of your bra, and easy to spill from the collection point if you pour the wrong way. Once you figure this out though it’s not a big problem.
Second, despite playing around with different pump levels, I still collect around the same amount as my silicone suction style pump that I occasionally wear to collect letdown while breastfeeding on the other breast, so it isn’t more effective than other pumps, but it is definitely more convenient.

Freestyle Handsfree Double Electric Pump Review

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to learn that Medela had created a handsfree double electric pump. I was given this product as part of the stellar product testing panel, and have been very impressed. The pump is so easy to use and straight-forward. At first I wasn’t sure about not having bottles to store the pumped milk, but the storage cups are so easy to empty directly into milk bags. The shape of the cups allow them to fit perfectly into any bra - I used mine in a nursing bra, regular everyday bra, as well as in a sports bra! I used this pump at home, while driving, and in a plane - something I would never have been able to do with a regular pump. It is so discreet, quiet and compact. It fits perfectly into my purse, so I can always bring it on the go. The mechanical pump is powerful and effective, and I was able to build a great milk stash with this pump while traveling. I have tucked the pump into my pocket while wearing the storage cups, and honestly forgotten I was pumping - I can’t recommend this product enough.
