Compact and easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pump is pretty amazing. The size is great and easy to transport. Its very lightweight and will not add too much load to your work bag. It is very quiet and the display screen is simple to navigate. It was very comfortable during the pumping session. I was able to do a light house chores and care for my children during pumping since it runs in batteries. I like there are no tiny pumping parts. It made it easy to clean and sterilize. The membranes are large and will be hard to misplace. Thank you Stellar Product Testing Panel for sending me this pump to review! It really is a wonderful pump for a working mom.

Perfect travel pump!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would just like to start by saying thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this pump. My son just turned one year old, so I also just reached one year of exclusively pumping! I have used a few pumps, and have spent about 1,000 hours pumping over the last year. I will start with the pros for the freestyle flex pump. It is the perfect size for traveling (the pump itself is smaller than my wallet), it comes apart easily to be cleaned (and you don’t have to deal with duckbill valves), and it is extremely user friendly. It comes with a manual to explain all of the different settings, which was very helpful in finding what gave me the most output. It comes with both 21 and 24 flanges, and they have a soft edge where it sits on your breast, which I found to be much more comfortable than plastic alone, and it also felt much more secure on my breast. This pump also comes with so many accessories: a bag to hold/travel with everything, as well as a small cooler with 4 collection cups (always nice to have an extra set) as well as an awesome ice pack with rounded cut outs for bottles that is double sided! I pumped 3 full sessions (30 minutes each) on a single charge and the battery was still not dead. The battery refills quickly as well. The screen on the pump is clear and easy to understand/use, and I like that the power button is an actual button on the side of the pump rather than on the touch screen. I will note that this is only hands free if you have a pumping bra to make it that way. Next are the cons. I felt that the pump was a little loud, but nothing obnoxious. The tubing is very short, so I would definitely want to purchase longer tubing to have a little more freedom moving around while pumping. The pump has a small strap attached to it for carrying around, but I would much rather have a clip on the back so I could clip it to my pants to be able to walk around. Overall, I would definitely recommend this pump, especially if you travel or need flexibility to move around the house while pumping.

Comfort and convenience - what every momma needs!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a first time mom, I had no idea what a difference finding the right pump for me would make. After fourteen months of motherhood, five breastpumps, and a billion pump accessories, it’s safe to say I’ve learned a few things.
I am a full time working mother and pumping 2-3 times per day. It is absolutely essential that a pump I spend so much time connected to is easy to use. I have had pumps that made me feel like I needed to pack a suitcase to take with me to work because of how large it was and all of the parts that I was required to take. The Freestyle Flex, in contrast, is so small that I can fit it in my regular purse. It is not only incredibly convenient not needing an extra bag to juggle in the morning, but also much more discreet for the workplace.
In addition, every part is very easy to clean, which is huge for me. I hate spending ages trying to clean the hard to reach crevices that some pumps have in certain areas, such as the inside of a duckbill membrane or an oddly placed corner in a flange. The Freestyle has large, primarily flat membranes and wide openings everywhere that make cleaning a breeze. On top of that, the pieces are dishwasher safe!
The ability to be cordless while I pump is wonderful. I hang the pump on the arm of my chair with a loop it has on one end, and then I can move between areas on my desk, or grab the pump and walk wherever I need. Being able to get up and grab something sounds like a small thing, but when you spend an hour or more plugged into a wall every day for over a year, it can mean the world. A huge bonus feature for me is that, when I do need to charge the pump, it uses the same USB cord that my Samsung Galaxy Note 9 uses. I take just the pump cord with me, and am able to use it for both the pump and my phone. It is fantastic not needing a cord for both!
With that said, I do have to dock a star after having an unfortunate milk mishap. I leaned back in my chair after a few days of using the Freestyle, and about ten minutes later, I realized my pants and pumping bra were damp. Apparently, if you lean back too much, there’s a risk that milk will start dribbling the wrong way out of the flange as you pump. Since then, I have been careful not to lean backward and have had no more lost milk. Not being able to lean back isn’t critical, but it would be more comfortable. The shape of the flanges, however, are significantly more comfortable than the rigid plastic flanges I’ve had before. They’re more of an oval shape with very soft edges, and they seem to fit a lot more naturally.
The Freestyle Flex seems to be a lot more effective than other pumps I have tried. I have struggled with my milk flow, and have needed to spend as much as 45 minutes trying to get just an ounce or two with some of my past pumps. The Medela Freestyle Flex has been able to empty as much as nine ounces in just fifteen minutes! Due to the shape and small size of this pump, I have found that you can actually hold the pump against your chest while it is running to use the vibrations to help milk flow and break up any clogs - which has made a tremendous difference. If for no other reason, the time it has saved me has completely won me over with this pump.
The overall comfort and convenience of the Medela Freestyle Flex Pump is better than any of the many other breastpumps I have tried. Thank you very much to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this pump.

The Freestyle Flex does offer the ability to relax a little more while pumping and not have to sit straight up but you do have to be careful how far you recline because gravity will take over and cause milk spills. My new breast friend

No more pumping in the bathroom. This pump is quiet compared to what I’ve used in the past. It is small enough to take with you, without carrying an extra 10 pounds around. I love that you can sync it to an app, and I also love that it times your pumps so I’m not constantly having to look at my watch! This pump has expressed more milk than any other pump that I own! I love that it charges with a USB and you don’t have to worry about being hooked up to an outlet or worry about dying batteries while pumping! Traveling Mom’s Best Breastpump

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I travel pretty regularly for work, so when I had the opportunity to test out the Medela Freestyle Flex breast pump courtesy of the Stellar Product Testing program I jumped at the chance. I’m a mom of 5, currently nursing my 15 month old twins so I’ve tried them all and pumped in all kinds of situations. The Freestyle Flex was great for those day trips out of the office. It’s light weight and perfect that it comes in a purse that I can fit my laptop and notebook into. But the light weight doesn’t sacrifice power. It’s still the great dependability of Medela that I rely on. My only complaint was I like the clear breastshields / flanges of their other pumps so I can check the milk output and adjust. These were opaque which was great for privacy when pumping on the train. Overall great pump for a mom on the go!

Excellent Mobile Pump!

I wish I had this pump when I was working full-time with my first daughter. I always wanted to be able to pump during my long commute and really needed to so I could get enough milk- this pump allows for this! I love how small the pump is, that you can plug it in to the wall, computer (via USB), or just use it if the battery is charged! It is very easy to use and clean. I found that I got more milk from this pump than others that I have used. I love that when using my hands free pumping bra that I could do just about anything. I was able to check and respond to emails, work on homeschooling with my other children, watch a movie and relax............these are things I could never have done before. I received this product from Stellar Product Testing Panel.

Best pump

A rechargeable battery made my life so much eaiser. With other kids to take care of, I was actually able to pump and do things with them, instead of being tied to an outlet. It is the best pump I have ever used!
