Great pump, but not exactly for "wherever you go".

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Medela Freestyle Flex Pump is an easy-to-use pump that impressed me from the first use. This is my second child, so I've used a few other electric pumps, and I suspected that the compact size would mean that it was less powerful. Not so - I noticed an equal amount of output vs. my standard electric pump. The PersonalFit Flex shields were also very comfortable. I usually need to buy smaller off-brand shields with my pumps, but 21 mm shields were included and fit great. My one complaint is that you can't exactly pump "wherever you go." The shields, connectors, and bottles are about the size of a standard pump, so you'll need to be covered up if you were try to pump in public. The pump is easily held in one hand, but it's too bulky for most of my pockets, so when I walked around, I wasn't fully hands-free. However, I did like that that I could comfortably get ready in front of my bathroom mirror. The wireless capability also made it pretty easy to pump on one side while holding my colicky baby on the other side. I also look forward to being able to pump in the car when I go back to work; since it's recharged via USB, I'll be able to use it even if I forget to charge beforehand. All in all, this is a great pump that allows you to move around while pumping - but likely, just in the comfort of your own home. Super Convenient!

The Medela Freestyle Flex is hands down my favorite pump! I am a busy working mom who has to pump at work to provide milk for my 8 month old son. I have 4 breastpumps but none compare to the Freestyle Flex. The compact size and portability is my favorite feature. I have pumped while vacuuming, while eating at a restaurant, and while on vacation at the airport. I am currently on vacation and I am not concerned with returning to my hotel room to recharge the pump. The battery lasts a long time and if necessary I could simply recharge via USB with a portable power pack. This is such a convenient feature. My third favorite feature is the personal fit flexible breastshield. The soft rim and angled shape added so much comfort to my pumping experience. Overall, the pump is truly quiet and compact enough not to interfere with any activities that I am performing. It was incredibly easy to set up right out of the box. The display screen on the unit is simple and easy to navigate. This pump represents the Medela brand name very well because the suction is excellent and does a great job at comfortably removing breastmilk. This is the MOST important feature and I am just blown away at how effective this pump is at quickly removing milk. Other portable pumps often sacrifice effectiveness for portability but that is not the case with the Freestyle Flex. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this pump. It is a game changer for sure.

Small but Mighty!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Medela Freestyle Flex is such a blessing to travel with! I'm a second time mom, and have used two other pumps, but this one was by FAR the quietest and smallest without sacrificing suction. As you can see in the pictures, it's about the size of my hand or the size of the flange with 5oz Medela bottle attached. It fit easily into my diaper bag. I was skeptical when I first received it, as I'm used to larger pumps and still needing to up the suction to increase output, yet I was very pleased with the ease of use and the results I got. I love the Bluetooth compatibility with my phone, and it makes tracking pumps super easy. The USB charge with a dream to use, especially in a hotel room when outlets can sometimes be hidden or scarce. I also really liked the new flanges with the comfort edges, this was a nice upgrade from my previous pregnancy with all plastic flanges. Also, the pump bag is discreet and the cooler bag and ice pack is so so handy going back and forth from work! My one complaint is that the Freestyle Flex's membrane system is different than the other Medela pump I use, so I cannot interchange them, and it is slightly bulkier than the other Medela flange system. Overall though, that is such a small complaint when faced with how convenient (but SO effective) this little pump is. I'm super fortunate to have received this pump through Stellar Product Testing Panel in exchange for an honest review.

Great pump for on-the-go moms!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this pump to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and I am not disappointed. I have used close to every pump on the market so I consider myself somewhat of a breast pump snob. This pump is super easy to use and makes pumping anywhere incredibly easy with its rechargeable battery. I have a 40 minute commute each day and have been using this pump on my drive to and from work and it has made such a difference in my day and in my supply. Before this pump, I would have to wake up 30 minutes earlier to pump at home before I left. After this pump, I can wake up at my usual time, get in my car, hook myself up to the pump, and drive to work. My favorite part is not worrying about finding an outlet in order to pump. The USB charger is great for charging in the car if needed and the battery life is insane. I've used this pump at least 15 times and it still has at least 50% battery life. The one and only complaint that I have is that the suction has almost a vibrating feel, which I'm not a fan of. Otherwise I think this is absolutely necessary for working moms, traveling moms, and moms with other kids who simply can't sit connected to the wall to pump.

Great pump with lots of bells and whistles

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this pump from the Stellar Product Testing Panel and have been using it for several weeks now. I'm mom of a 1 1/2 year old and 2 month old and have experience with several different breast pumps. This pump does not need to be plugged in during use which is a MUST in my opinion. The pump itself is small enough for me to put in my pocket and walk around while using. You will need to buy a hands free pumping bra if you want to conveniently pump both sides at once. Otherwise you would need to manually hold the flange to your breast the whole time while using. You would also need a nursing cover if you don't want people to see your nipples through the clear flanges while pumping. The battery lasts me several pumping sessions before it needs to be recharged. It does seem that it takes a little longer to get to let down that other pumps I've used but you can up the intensity settings and that seems to help. After let down I usually up the intensity to get through the pumping session faster. Overall my pumping sessions last 10-12 minutes. I like the convenience of pumping directly into the Medela bottles and love that the pump comes with a tote to contain all of the parts. The parts are easy to wash and can be put in the top rack of the dishwasher as well. Overall this is an easy to use pump that works well.

High performing on the go pump

I’ve tried a handful of different pumps over the course of my two kids and I can hands down say this is one of my favourites. Has all the must-haves I’m looking for in a pump: double-electric, closed-system, let-down vs long pump setting, adjustable suction power.
I was able to pump in a more relaxed position than the previous freestyle model, and found it more comfortable. It comes with two different sized flanges which is so value-added—not having to spend time and money figuring out your best fit. This may have contributed to what seemed like better expression volume with it versus other Medela pumps I’ve tried. Speaking of inclusions, the carry bag is an appreciated part of a travel pump but the 2 extra bottles, bottle bag and specialized ice pack are awesome. It would be more convenient and complete if they also came with nipples, however.
The membrane system is also seriously upgraded — waaaaay easier to clean and less parts than before and closed system now so no need to worry about milk in the tubing!
The super compact size and battery power made it amazing for pumping at work, and with the USB charger, super discreet for charging at work on my computer as well.
The only downside I’m sure will be the price which might place it out of some people’s means. But if this pump is within your budget, it’s well worth the investment, particularly if you plan on pumping at work and on the go!

Finally a Pump that Fits My Lifestyle!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pump is AMAZING! I am a working mom of two under two and this pump changes the way I think about pumping.
It came in a super durable carrying case with Medela bottles and a cooler bag. I think what stands out most about this pump is how small it is!! It fits in the palm of my hands. There is a digital screen which makes the whole process super easy to use and a cord that you can use to hang on your wrist or (like me) in the car to and from work.
But even though it's small, it does not lose any of it's power. I produce as much milk with the Freestyle than all my other pumps, so don't be fooled by its convenient size.
I carry this pump and supplies to and from work daily and it's so light. SO REFRESHING!!! The pump also has a USB charger, which means, even if you forget the main charger, you can still plug it in if you have spare cables.
I seriously could go on and on about how great this pump is, but you just have to try it for yourself. Being free from the wall and an outlet is LIFE.CHANGING. I am not stuck in a chair and can move around and take care of my toddler while pumping.
I am never going back to anything else.
