Great machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This my third year and it has been through a lot of snow. I am 80 years of age and love this machine. It ploughs through lots of snow, not bad in wet snow , light weight also even look after my neighbours sidewalk. I hav 2 batteries but seldom need the 2. Very happy with this product.

I really like my snowblower.. It is quite powerful for it's size. The only things I don't like about it is when you only have one battery it has to go into the same side every time. I wish I could alternate sides. It also doesn't like going from one surface to another.

Hits all the notes for me: light, easy to handle, quite, no-fumes, doesn't need to be "started". I expect lower maintenance issues - electric is so much simpler than gas.
The street plow made an 18"+ pile at the end of the driveway. By shaving off snow from one side I move the whole lot without any stress. The battery lasted 30 minutes as advertised and recharged in 100 mins.

Expensive w/ extra battery, but worth it

I had two Toro PowerClear single stage snowblowers before and had to deal with mixing the oil with gas, changing spark plugs every season, and fumes from burning gas + oil. Those were minor inconveniences, though. What really got my goat was how I never knew if the darn things would start up when I needed them most. Some of my lowest moments were after I'd plowed my driveway then had to load the snowblower into my car to plow another location, only to find the lousy thing wouldn't start up after unloading it, resulting in a sore shoulder followed by having to shovel. With the SnowJoe, I never have to worry - just turn the power on and go, no startup, no pulling, nothing. The Snow Joe handles 18" deep snow like a champ, though obviously the better strategy is to make multiple passes throughout the day rather than letting it build up into huge drifts before trying to plow. The additional battery was very expensive and likely was overkill, but I like having the peace of mind - I've never come close to exhausting the batteries even when plowing the driveway multiple times in a day during New York blizzards. Worth every penny.

Do NOT waste your money! This will only work on <6" of lite powder snow for the first year at best. The batteries will not stay charged longer than 30 days, if you happen to get good batteries to start with. If you have to get replacement batteries, like I did, your chances of getting good batteries is less than 20%. They have now sent 10 replacements, only 2 are useable, it takes 4 to run the blower!

Great Battery Powered Snow Blower

Go figure we would have an early snow storm in Niagara. So the day before I heard about the snow I went and bought the battery powered Snow Joe. The next day we had 10" of very wet and heavy snow. Absolutely surprised that in 30 minutes I was able to clean a 30 ft x 18 ft driveway, an 85 foot long sidewalk, then my neighbours 100 foot sidewalk, then was able to do one pass past 3 other neighbours before the battery got low on charge. I did this at six in the morning, the machine was was so quiet, just a slight purr of the motor. May buy another battery but there are not cheap. Well done!!

Expensive battery, chute Vibrates

I would like to purchase an extra battery for my peace of mind but it's so expensive... Also another part I don't like is the chute that looks, feels cheap and also vibrates when I'm using it that's annoying considering that the snow blower itself is quiet! Overall the snow blower is good enough for Double car garage and sidewalks with 15-20cm of snow. It has good power and variable speed come in handy. I have both owned single stage gas and snow joe 40v and I feel that the price it sells for, quality could be a better. I hope battery Price lowers.
