I’ve had my Eco 5 for over a month now and use it once or twice a week. I fill it with veggie and fruit scraps, eggshells, leftovers
That have gone bad in the fridge, juicing pulp and whatever else. The machine will turn a bucket full of scraps into a half a cup or more of a material that looks and feels like peet moss. Its very dry and light so easy to distribute in your garden. I live in a condo and I just put in the yard. The machine is quiet. In about an hour or two the bucket full is already reduced to less than half. It does take about 6-8 hrs but its hardly noticeable. This product has exceeded my expectations and makes my life so much easier. I truly wish every home would have this device. Wanted to mention that if I have large amounts of Watermelon rind I will run it through my juicer. This way it gets composted with everything else. Love the product as I do all my other vitamix products. So happy I purchased the Eco 5. It’s easy, convenient and allows me to put my food back into the earth vs rotting in the landfill.

if you hate smelly wet foot waste, this will be your savior. We dump most of our left overs and cooking scraps in and the next morning we have a cup or two of stuff that looks like coffee grinds. This is NYC. We don’t have a garden to feed. So every few weeks we throw the scraps into the community compost bin. They consider it carbon. This is the most rugged Food Cycler and it works great.
