Love the induction cooktop

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just started using mine. Love the induction cooktop but don’t like where they put the controls for the oven. If you are a messy cook like me things get spilled on it. Because it is recessed in the stainless panel it is hard to clean. I also don’t like how hot the front of this panel gets when the oven is on. I do love the way it looks ! I haven’t been able to use all the functions of the oven. I’m not a big cooker so I mainly purchased it to get rid of my dirty gas range when I decided to renovate the kitchen. Love the way the new cook top looks with the new countertop. I already had a Kitchen Aid dishwasher and wanted everything to match.

Sensitive oven buttons, need better user manual

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The range is great however it has extremely sensitive oven buttons. You have to be very careful about not hitting ther buttons while cooking as that turns on the oven. The user manual that comes with range is not adequate i had to go to the website and download detailed versions. Its very hard to find meaning of an error or why the range just display an "E" when you turn it on as documentation doesn't say anything for it in troubleshooting section

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second KitchenAid range, and I am so glad I got an induction cooktop. It's amazing how fast it heats up and cools down. Looking forward to making bagels in the steam oven.

Great Looking Range - room for improvement.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had the range for 2-3 months. It looks great and functions well. Overall, we are happy with it.
I’ve noted two aspects of concern though. It is very easy to turn on the oven unintentionally with the touch controls. We are developing a habit to lock the controls when not in use to prevent this. It has already happened twice, but luckily noticed fairly quickly.
The other concern is related to temperatures of exposed surfaces when using the oven. The stainless steel areas (front and top) above the oven door get extremely hot to touch - to the extent that you cannot hold you hand on those exposed areas for even a second or two. This concerns me from a potential for injury or fire.I wouldn’t think exposed areas like these should be getting that hot. There are no small children or elderly in this house - if there were, I’d rethink the purchase.

Oven Temperature
on November 4, 2024
Posted by: Mark44
Love the range is Kitchen-aid quality. Oven is a puzzling. After 20 minutes did not reach 350 degrees. Oven thermometer set in side center reported 300 degrees both baking and convection. Moved temperature up to 475 degrees and got closer to 450 after and other 15 minutes. Looking for help.

Range failure
on November 7, 2024

Had this range for less than 2 years before the cooktop stopped working. The repair is almost half as much as a new oven. I cannot afford to and would not buy a kitchen aid range again.

Mostly good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had this range for a few weeks now, and have put it through its paces.
Starting off with the good:
This thing heats up fast and the oven stays hot. The cooktop will absolutely boil a quart of water in well under a minute, and a pasta pot only takes a few minutes to reach a rolling boil. The oven doesn't overshoot the temperature either, so it's safe to put things in before it's preheated. The roll out rack is a literal backsaver too.
On to the just okay: The air fry isn't nearly as fast or well controlled as my parent's Ninja counter top unit. It works well enough, but it takes a long time to preheat. The automatic settings on the cooktop are very pan dependent too, the boil tends to maintain a low, steady boil but the simmer setting is near useless. The easy recipe menu for the convection settings is cumbersome abs you have to wait for slow scrolling text on the single line display to know how to set it up. With such a big area dedicated to the oven controls, it seems kind of cheap that we're stuck with a single line of text.
And finally the bad: The self clean is just bad. It doesn't actually own loosen up any soil on the bottom of the oven any more than soaking in water does. And forget any splatters on the walls or door. The touch controls on the cooktop are finicky, but even worse, the range makes an awful screeching warning noise if you even momentarily put something metallic on top of them. I've never one been glad it alerted me that I put a pan in the stovetop.
In sum, love the cooktop speed and control of heat, like the oven, but there are a couple of annoyances I'll live with.
