Switched form the flip 3 after having it since it came out. I love the flip series treat it like a baby and replace screen protector every year or so and it's an awesome phone. Love the bigger screen and the fact you can get any app on the cover screen is awesome keep it up Samsung.

Love the big screen!

I bought this a few weeks ago and so far it's been great! The large screen when the phone is folded is a game changer where I'm able to have functionality without opening the phone. By downloading the Good Lock app to add in numerous app widgets means I can do so much more while the phone is folded. So far the battery life is pretty good.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very good phone overall. I know there will be more cons than pros on my list but the truth of the matter is I am really happy with my Samsung Flip 5. It is a great phone that is built well, functions well, and is unique. I haven't been this excited to own and use a phone in quite a while. I didn't give this 5 stars because to me 5 stars means it's perfect. This phone is not perfect. No phone is perfect in my opinion. If I could give it 4.5 out of 5 I would however. To the Samsung team, thank you. You did a very good job with this product.
Pros:
The large outer screen makes a work of difference compared to the previous Flip phones.
Apps work very well on the outer screen. I use the outer screen a lot to play music, watch video check email, reply to text, ect.
The outer screen is customizable.
Build quality is excellent. The best in my opinion of any flip style phone.
Compact and easy to carry when folded is super convenient and underrated in my opinion.
I am happy with battery life and charging.
Wireless charging.
It's cool using the out display for a selfie or the video record feature. The camera quality is alright but not as good as the very best out there.

Fingerprint reader is locks you out to quickly. Compared to the Flip 4 and Fold 4 which i owned, the Flip 5 is quick to lock you out for 30 seconds on failed attempts. And the attempts on the Flip 5 are so quick that you may not realize you have to move your fingers before it locks you out. I get much more lock outs on the Flip 5 compared to when I did with the Flip 4. The fingerprint read could definitely be optimized. Basically just make the fingerprint reader like that found on the Flip 4.

When you do get locked out and have to enter a pin, I wish the pin screen on the outer screen would be larger. On the inner screen, the numbers extend from size to side making entering your pin easy. The pins on the outer screen are smaller relative to the screen size when compare to the pins on the inner screen. That could definitely be optimized.
When opening apps on the outer screen there is a slight but noticeable delay compared to when opening apps on the inner screen. It is also true when pulling up the keyboard, again a slight delay. Speaking of keyboard, you can't use a third part keyboard on the outer display but you could for the inner display.
Make notifications pop up brighter on the outer display when the screen is off. They are too dim and I haven't figured a way to brighten them.
The outer display is running at 60 frames a second. At the very least it should be 90 frames and even that is would not be really good in 2023.
Although there are ways to allow the user to open nearly all apps on the outer screen, it does require a work around. It would be nice to have that feature without a work around.
No head phone jack is a disappointment. Music just sounds much better with a headphone jack compared to wireless.

Tiny but powerful

I have had my zflip5 for about a month now, it's been incredible. I took a cruise with the device and the main camera with flex wind made recording and taking pictures great. No more me asking the server to take a picture. The battery has lasted me all day but I do wireless charge at different points in the day. I always have access to a charger so battery issues. When I workout and just keep music videos playing on the flex window. I don't know why but I love using that tiny screen lol. Also playing diablo immortal for hours this device runs the game cooler and smoother than iPhone 14 PM. I don't take it easy on this device. I'm making 2 hours plus of phone calls. Have all 5 of my email accounts connected. Run my Google Doc workflow (yes I do full reports on the device because using the voice transcript is faster than typing on my laptop) and the device has been performing flawlessly. Yes it's not as powerful as the s23 ultra or fold 5 but with this performance and gaming prowess it's a flagship in my book

I really like the foldability and features of the Flip5. It is compact, easy to slip into my pocket or small purse, or even hang on a lanyard or shoulder strap of my bag. I especially like the outer screen for quick views and contactless payments, and the fingerprint authentication using the side button instead of the screen. I prefer this short form fold format over the Z Fold5 long form fold. In comparing with the S23 Ultra, which is my favorite, I feel that the camera and battery life are slightly lacking in the Flip5. If the Flip5 was a foldable S23 Ultra, it would be perfect for me. Even so, the Flip5 is a great everyday phone with maximum portability that I would recommend to anyone.

I love my z flip 5. Honestly, I didn't like it when I first purchased it. It grew on me, quickly. Now, I've been buying multiple phone cases for it. I like to switch it up alot. I use the bottom of one color from one case, and use another color for the top piece. Majority of time, my phone is red and black. Or I switch to black and grey, the possibility are endless. But I stick with my favorite colors really. And I love how I was able to ADD more apps to my cover screen, I like surfing the net when my phone is folded.

I bought this phone 3 months ago and I LOVE it! I do not have a case nor purchased any protectional parts to go with the phone because I do not typically drop my phone and haven't really worried about it with past phones either. However, for some reason I am always dropping this phone or knocking it off the counter and it has not broken or cracked anywhere! Really impressed with this phone and highly recommend!
