Fantastic!

I'm using the L-plate with Sony a7IV. My hands are on the smaller side and it works great when adjusted for 3-fingers inside the loop usage. I had a several hours shoot and it was super convenient, to the degree that I forgot it was there despite the convenience it provided for holding and controlling the camera one-handed as well as the added security.
Worth mentioning:
* All the materials used are just great.
* The anchor point on the Micro Clutch has a great position: when paired with a Slide strap the lens is pointing down and sits very comfortably in general.
* If it doesn't fit well on the first attempt, try a few different configurations: 2/3 fingers, firm/loose fit. I found 3 fingers with a slightly looser fit to be the best for me.
One of the best products from PD so far. It solved a real problem in a unique way.
It now feels odd to use the camera without it, that says a lot how good it is.

The Perfect Solution

I recently started using the Micro Clutch from PeakDesign and I'm quite satisfied with its performance. I'm using the Fujifilm XT30 camera, paired with the Type I Micro Clutch, and this combination is truly perfect.
Before I started using the Micro Clutch, I used to use the Capture v3. However, I found that it would cover the battery cover, preventing me from quickly replacing the battery and memory card. Every time I needed to change the battery or memory card, I had to remove the Capture v3. This not only required additional tools, but there was also no suitable place to store the removed Capture v3. However, since I switched to the Micro Clutch, these problems have been resolved. Now, I can quickly disassemble the Micro Clutch to replace the battery and memory card, and I no longer need to carry additional tools, nor worry about where to store the removed Micro Clutch.
In addition, after using the Micro Clutch, I can finally operate with one hand. This is a significant improvement for me as it allows me to take photos more conveniently.
Lastly, I want to mention that the base of the Micro Clutch is compatible with Capture v3, which allows me to use the previous quick-release system.
In conclusion, I am very satisfied with the Micro Clutch from PeakDesign. It solved the problems I encountered when using Capture v3 and provides the convenience I need. I strongly recommend all Fujifilm XT30 users to try the Micro Clutch.

Excellent Fit for my Fujifilm X100V!

I have the regular size Peak Design Clutch and it works excellent on my full frame Canon R6. I wanted something similar that would fit my much smaller X100V and when the Micro Clutch came out, it looked to be exactly what I was looking for. Trying it out on my camera is even better than I expected.
My favorite features of the Micro Clutch are that it goes across almost the entire bottom of the X100V which allows it to stand flat on a table. I also found the clutch handle a good size. I like to use it with 3 fingers, leaving only my index finger free to press the shutter. I found this more comfortable than using only 2 fingers. The integrated tool is also really well thought out. It would have been annoying to carry around a separate tool to remove the bottom bracket whenever I need to change the battery or have access to the SD card. But including the integrated tool makes up for that and I found it to not be any hassle to remove the bottom bracket for access to the battery compartment on the X100V.
I really recommend the Micro Clutch for anyone who likes to carry their smaller cameras without a neck strap. Just grabbing my X100V without a dangling camera strap makes my setup much more compact and packable.

My main use is for X-H2 and I wanted a clutch that its not so big to use. The Micro is the best for that application light small secure and versatile. I was afraid that due to its size could be deficult to use on X-H2 but its perfect

Sorry, but it’s perfect.

I was admittedly expecting what I often do with Peak Design products: reading the good and bad, but finding love well into ownership (once the learning curve passes).
Unfortunately though, the micro-clutch is perfect—it’s easy to install, far more adjustable for variable sizes and potential grips than I had been lead to believe, and super comfortable and intuitive. It has no learning curve. It’s just another Peak Design product where all of the elements are in a delicate balance, and once you explore the parts’ relationships to the sum, its design feels so carefully considered.
The L plate on my XT-5 is out of the way and feels like a natural extension of the camera. Even with heavy lenses, my averagely sized but not small hands, and two-or-three-finger grips with the strap at one of its tightest settings, it’s comfy and adds the perfect amount of security.
I believe this will work for you. You know that you know that Peak Design knows what they’re doing. P.S. The split ring tool is phenomenal—y'all are wild.

Great for A7rIV

Ive been a clutch user for years. It’s great but I always had to bend my shooter finger in an awkward position to hit the shoot button. Usually i never had the strap completely on my had. This clutch fixes that. I was worried about the strap hitting the webbing between my fingers but it has just enough clearance that it doesn’t. i can hold my camera with my fingers more where it would naturally be. I think it’s a keeper.

Specifically, with use of plate

As with all Peak Design products, of which I have many, it is well executed and thoughtfully designed.
I like having a plate attached to the camera for use on a tripod or with Capture. I do realize that the Micro-clutch does account for this; unfortunately, the first iteration using a plate-on-top-of-a-plate is a bit too bulky and cumbersome. Perhaps a later version could potentially employing a singular plate that can do both?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
Response from Peak DesignBy PD TeamPD TeamJuly 31, 2023
Thanks for the feedback! Many people want to know why we didn’t just add ARCA rails to the plate itself. There’s two reasons why we chose not to do that. First, Micro Clutch prioritizes compatibility with smaller mirrorless cameras because the added grip it provides is most useful on cameras that lack a useful grip feature. In order to make Micro Clutch compelling for smaller cameras, we fought hard to keep the baseplate size and thickness as minimal as possible. Forcing ARCA integration into the baseplate would have increased its width by a full centimeter. On some smaller cameras, that meant the plate would be noticeably protruding outwards on the front and back sides of the camera body. We actually prototyped this and the result did not meet Peak’s requirements for being a great looking product.

Second, adding ARCA rails to the baseplate does not create compatibility with Capture, which was a requirement for this product. You need the full standard plate geometry to maintain Capture compatibility and we solved that through the addition of an accessory plate. The Micro Clutch accessory ARCA plate provides Capture compatibility, ARCA compatibility, and is also removable for those users who don't need it, so we feel like that is the best option. The accessory ARCA plate was designed to be constrained in the baseplate so the user isn’t required to re-align it during install. During removal, the ARCA is held in place by magnets so it won’t fall away from the baseplate during a battery swap.

The Micro Clutch accessory ARCA plate provides Capture compatibility, ARCA compatibility, and is also removable for those users who don't need it, so we feel like that is the best option. The requests for ARCA rails in the main plate, or L-Plate geometry added to the end of the plate are relevant questions, but we feel those are different products. No one was designing a comfortable, streamlined strap for smaller mirrorless cameras out there and that's what we set out to do. Micro Clutch is first and foremost a hand strap optimized for smaller mirrorless cameras, especially those without a built in grip. It also prioritizes compatibility with Peak's current ecosystem of products (like Capture V3), not just ARCA tripods.

Great product and design, just a tiny flaw

As with all peak design products, very well thought out and the material of the product is always awesome quality. My only issue is battery access now requires an extra step. Although, peak design has cleverly attached a special tool for quick removal of the clutch, it still one extra thing to do before swapping out batteries.
