Would not recommend for Olympus

This is well designed and sturdy as one would expect from PeakDesign. Love the hidden wrench that snaps into place. But while the spec says it was tested on the Olympus EM-1 it doesn't fit it very well. The L-plate sites out in front of the camera, which looks odd. And the Olympus strap hold is set too far back making it impossible for me to fasten the clutch and still fit my fingers through it. Probably works great for the cameras they explicitly mention like the Sony a7. Or maybe my hands are just too big. Follow the measuring guidelines closely before ordering. Olympus is not as popular in the US, so I get it. Worth a shot.

Thanks for the review and feedback!
The Olympus EM-1 is one of those edge case cameras that could use Micro Clutch or Clutch regular as comfort could vary depending on hand size and dexterity. This is a larger bodied camera with an eyelet that is high and quite far back on the body and the grip is pronounced, but pointy shaped. If you have larger hands, you might find the Clutch to be a better fit. We do also have an XL hand pad that could be used to increase comfort if you find the Micro Clutch is the right length, but experienced chaffing.
If you are interested in a larger hand pad option or would like to process a return, please reach out to our support team at info@peakdesign.com and we can assist with that

Canon G5X Mark II
on July 11, 2023

Summary: It works on the G5Xii, but it may not be comfortable. I had to tighten the strap as much as possible (to the length of the hand pad, hole #6) in order to be snug around my fingers. Because the eyelet is not at the top of this camera, there's significant distance between the middle finger in the strap and the index finger pressing the shutter, this is not comfortable (see photo 1). It's more comfortable to slide the last two fingers in the strap and leave the middle finger loose (see photos 2 and 3), but then the strap isn't snug and the camera would fall if you relaxed your grip. Photo 4 illustrates that you don't require much grip if you slide the middle and ring fingers in the strap; it's comfortable to carry, but not to shoot. For those interested, photo 5 shows how the I-Plate fits on the bottom of this camera. I'll keep experimenting, but I'm not ready yet to recommend this product for the G5Xii. I think the product value is very good, but perhaps it requires tweaking for some cameras.

Great companion for Leica Q3
on August 4, 2023

Got an I-Plate during the Kickstarter for my Q3. It works great with the Leica thumb grip to give a secure single-hand grip. Build quality is up to peak’s usual fine standards.
One general con: strap adjustment is difficult. The holes are very small relative to the post you fit them over. This results in a very secure fit once done, but is a bit of a bear to get set the first time if you have big hands and short nails like I do.
One Q3 specific con: you will not be able to access the SD card without removing the baseplate _and_ screw, as the location of the tripod mount on the Q3 means the baseplate overhangs. This is a minor con given the Q3 has USB file transfer unlike earlier models, but is probably why the I-Plate was rated non-compatible with the Q3 unlike the Q2. It otherwise works perfectly, and you can get at the battery with only removing the baseplate as intended.

Micro Clutch I-Plate works great with Fuji X70
on August 19, 2023

I was initially hesitant to get the Micro Clutch for my Fuji X70 because I’m really not a fan of how it fits on other similarly sized bodies like the Ricoh GR, but the I-Plate fits perfectly with the X70. As you can see from the photos, it covers the entire base of the body evenly with just the rounded lip protruding a couple of millimetres either way. PD team, if you’d like to update the compatibility chart here you go!
It’s not THE perfect solution for ergonomically-deficient camera bodies, but it is a pretty significant improvement. Takes some getting used to having just two fingers through the clutch and it would have been nice if there was an integrated solution to keep an anchor loop connected to the top of the clutch and not the base plate. Still a pretty well-designed product and I’m looking forward to using it on the street.

Disappointing with the FujiFilm X-S10 and X-H2S

Couldn't get the L plate to fit comfortably with either of my FujiFilm cameras - either my fingers wouldn't properly reach the grip or the edges of the grip cut into the skin between fingers - maybe if you have hands like the guy in the tutorial it would be perfect (and the I plate might work well for cameras without a grip). Shame - its a well built piece of kit and the tripod plate would have been useful.

We're sorry to hear the micro clutch doesn't work with your camera body as expected! We tried hard to accommodate as many makes and models as possible but unfortunately, there are a few out there that just don't quite work. We'll update our compatibility chart accordingly and please reach out to our support team at info@peakdesign.com and we can assist with processing a return for you.

Seemed like a great idea....but......

I purchased 2 of the micro clutch, and upon receiving them, neither box contained the assembly tool. I checked both boxes, and both boxes do not have them. That was my first issue. Then, I attached it to my Fujifilm x100v and the battery compartment/SD card slot, cannot be accessed with the micro clutch attached. This is the same for my Fuji x-e4, where the battery door cannot be opened even with the base of the micro clutch loosened, and moved - you actually have to remove the entire base (unscrew it completely) in order to access the battery/SD card slot. In the end, while it's a cool idea, especially for smaller mirrorless cameras, its not as practical as I had hoped it would have been.

Thanks for the feedback and review here! Micro Clutch was meant to be as universal as possible instead of model-specific, so there’s no dedicated hole for a battery door. We opted for a universal design to allow users to re-use the plate if they upgraded to a new camera with a similar body style. Having a universal design also allows users to use a single plate across multiple cameras with similar body styles. Because some users will need to twist or remove the plate to access batteries or SD cards, we opted to make the tool integrated into the plate itself so you’ll always have quick access instead of frantically trying to fish a tool out of your pack or pockets.

Perfect for most small cameras but the X100VI
on April 21, 2024

I bought the Micro Clutch when it first came out for my Fuji X-T4 and I love it, it makes the camera much more comfortable and secure to hold. I'm not giving it 5 stars because I bought another copy for my Fuji X100VI but it doesn't fit since Fuji moved the 1/4-20 mount.
I'd love to use my Micro Clutch with the X100VI but I can't, I suggest PD to develop a new version that allows to to slide the screw forwards and backwards so we can fit it in more cameras like this one. I will buy a new copy as soon as it becomes available.

Not for the X100VI

5 stars for the product, it is built well and looks great. -1 star because it sits too far forward on the the X100VI, it doesn't sit flush with the front of the camera because of the screw hole placement on the camera. I wanted this to work so bad. If there was a bit more adjustability witht placement, this would be stellar!
