Seemed like a great idea....but......

I purchased 2 of the micro clutch, and upon receiving them, neither box contained the assembly tool. I checked both boxes, and both boxes do not have them. That was my first issue. Then, I attached it to my Fujifilm x100v and the battery compartment/SD card slot, cannot be accessed with the micro clutch attached. This is the same for my Fuji x-e4, where the battery door cannot be opened even with the base of the micro clutch loosened, and moved - you actually have to remove the entire base (unscrew it completely) in order to access the battery/SD card slot. In the end, while it's a cool idea, especially for smaller mirrorless cameras, its not as practical as I had hoped it would have been.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thanks for the feedback and review here! Micro Clutch was meant to be as universal as possible instead of model-specific, so there’s no dedicated hole for a battery door. We opted for a universal design to allow users to re-use the plate if they upgraded to a new camera with a similar body style. Having a universal design also allows users to use a single plate across multiple cameras with similar body styles. Because some users will need to twist or remove the plate to access batteries or SD cards, we opted to make the tool integrated into the plate itself so you’ll always have quick access instead of frantically trying to fish a tool out of your pack or pockets.

Excellent Fit for my Fujifilm X100V!

I have the regular size Peak Design Clutch and it works excellent on my full frame Canon R6. I wanted something similar that would fit my much smaller X100V and when the Micro Clutch came out, it looked to be exactly what I was looking for. Trying it out on my camera is even better than I expected.
My favorite features of the Micro Clutch are that it goes across almost the entire bottom of the X100V which allows it to stand flat on a table. I also found the clutch handle a good size. I like to use it with 3 fingers, leaving only my index finger free to press the shutter. I found this more comfortable than using only 2 fingers. The integrated tool is also really well thought out. It would have been annoying to carry around a separate tool to remove the bottom bracket whenever I need to change the battery or have access to the SD card. But including the integrated tool makes up for that and I found it to not be any hassle to remove the bottom bracket for access to the battery compartment on the X100V.
I really recommend the Micro Clutch for anyone who likes to carry their smaller cameras without a neck strap. Just grabbing my X100V without a dangling camera strap makes my setup much more compact and packable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The Perfect Solution

I recently started using the Micro Clutch from PeakDesign and I'm quite satisfied with its performance. I'm using the Fujifilm XT30 camera, paired with the Type I Micro Clutch, and this combination is truly perfect.
Before I started using the Micro Clutch, I used to use the Capture v3. However, I found that it would cover the battery cover, preventing me from quickly replacing the battery and memory card. Every time I needed to change the battery or memory card, I had to remove the Capture v3. This not only required additional tools, but there was also no suitable place to store the removed Capture v3. However, since I switched to the Micro Clutch, these problems have been resolved. Now, I can quickly disassemble the Micro Clutch to replace the battery and memory card, and I no longer need to carry additional tools, nor worry about where to store the removed Micro Clutch.
In addition, after using the Micro Clutch, I can finally operate with one hand. This is a significant improvement for me as it allows me to take photos more conveniently.
Lastly, I want to mention that the base of the Micro Clutch is compatible with Capture v3, which allows me to use the previous quick-release system.
In conclusion, I am very satisfied with the Micro Clutch from PeakDesign. It solved the problems I encountered when using Capture v3 and provides the convenience I need. I strongly recommend all Fujifilm XT30 users to try the Micro Clutch.

Exquisite and compact

I installed it on the A7r3, I found it a little bothering at first, but quickly found it easier to take out of the backpack, and I felt the advantages of it

Good design, works for Fujifilm X-T100

I am using the Micro Clutch with the I-plate on my Fujifilm X-T100.
The I-plate fits the camera perfectly. I absolutely LOVE the design of the I-plate itself, the ARCA adapter, and the overall look and feel of the magnetic connections, integrated tool, etc. I hope that PD considers making this plate available independently (perhaps with an additional anchor loop or two on the sides?) as well as with the Micro Clutch, because it is loveley and is a great improvement on the plain anchor that comes with the Slide strap (namely, that I needed to find the hex wrench to remove it every time I wanted to access the battery/SD card compartment).
The Micro Clutch itself is great, though I had a few issues with installation and finding a configuration that minimized pressure points from the length adjustment pin. Overall, the grip feels pretty well made, secure and is definitely small enough to make my small hands feel secured to the camera, which was one worry of mine. Especially since it allows me to continue to use another strap/cuff, I think this will be very secure. The materials feel good and like they will last a long time, which is what I would expect from PD.
Installation was a bit fiddly, and was honestly a bit confusing. The hypalon strap is at first glance too large to fit into the slot on my camera, so I first installed it using the split ring. This works, though it cants the finger strap at a slight angle to the camera. If I was going to keep it installed like this, I might try and find a second tiny split ring to go between the included triangle split ring and the camera slot, so that the finger strap goes back to fully perpendicular to the camera body as intended. Using the split ring also let me install a PD Anchor side-by-side, which most closely mimics the strap options I had previously. Reading some of the responses here I see that it was intentionally designed to be a very tight fit, and does work to force the strap through the slot, but it's definitely neither clear that that is the intention at first glance, nor is it at all easy to do. Once you force it through, though, it does work pretty well and feels stable, and I hope it will wear okay even though compressed. I also tried the 'hack' suggested for another camera https://www.peakdesign.com/pages/faq?a=Which-Micro-Clutch-model-(L-plate-vs.-I-plate)-fits-my-camera---id--jptVfZVxSzSWIDOErEjmfA, using a PD Anchor instead of the split ring. This worked pretty well, and came with the advantange that you can use the anchor as normal, though it did change the length (obviously) and tension of the MicroClutch strap in a way that felt less comfortable to me.
The biggest problem I had is that the pin for adjusting the length goes all the way through both the hypalon strap and the leather hand strap to where your fingers are, so the stud presses directly into your finger. This is adjustable and I did eventually find a position/strap length where it is not immediately uncomfortable and seems, but it definitely took some trial-and-error and I have not yet tested it for very long periods. I think if the finger pad wasn't attached to the strap via the pin, there might be a bit more padding/better pressure distribution. I'm hoping that the configuration I found will be okay for at least moderate periods, especially when combined with another strap to give my fingers a break if necessary.
One thing to note is that it is not as amenable to gear hot-swapping as other PD products are, mainly due to the effort required to get the strap through the slot on the camera, though I expect that a lot of that is due to the limitations of the Micro size. The anchor attachment point on the bottom plate does help ameliorate this, since it's still easy to use the clutch in conjunction with another strap for extra security.
Overall, it's a nice piece of gear that I'm happy to add to my kit

I'm using the L-plate with Sony a7IV. My hands are on the smaller side and it works great when adjusted for 3-fingers inside the loop usage. I had a several hours shoot and it was super convenient, to the degree that I forgot it was there despite the convenience it provided for holding and controlling the camera one-handed as well as the added security.
Worth mentioning:
* All the materials used are just great.
* The anchor point on the Micro Clutch has a great position: when paired with a Slide strap the lens is pointing down and sits very comfortably in general.
* If it doesn't fit well on the first attempt, try a few different configurations: 2/3 fingers, firm/loose fit. I found 3 fingers with a slightly looser fit to be the best for me.
* All the materials used are just great.
* The anchor point on the Micro Clutch has a great position: when paired with a Slide strap the lens is pointing down and sits very comfortably in general.

One of the best products from PD so far. It solved a real problem in a unique way.

Awesome Product with Unintended Outcome

I didn't expect to want to work for Peak Design after buying the latest offering (yet another for my collection)! I had questions unrelated to the Micro Clutch when the KS campaign was still active. Pre-release customer service and engagement was amazing! Lmk who where to send my resume.
As far as the actual product is concerned, it's amazing! I'm trying to go on a travel diet, and this is perfect for the times when I'm low on bag capacity. It works as advertised and doesn't hurt my fingers. I'm using a Fuji XT-3, and the L-Plate works, but the I may have been a little better fit. It doesn't matter though b/c the integrated tool makes on-the-fly adjuststments (like getting to the battery door easier than giving my money away to PD. I'm not a big fan of neck and wrist sweat in the summer when using other PD products that keep me from paying repair bills…so, this is a great alternative on warmer days.
I would recommend this to a friend!

No for Fujifilm X-H2S

I bought the L-plate for Fujifilm X-H2S and the micro clutch is extremely uncomfortable. I cannot imagine using it. The straps cut into the skin between fingers. I guess the micro clutch may work only for small/light camera with a shutter release button on top plate. I don't have such camera to test. Well, if the camera is light, I probably don't need the micro clutch and I can easily stay with cuff which is much more flexible to attach/detach.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
